It's the End of the World - What Are You Eating ?

Friday, May 20, 2011

If you believe a certain Christian preacher, the world as we know it ends tomorrow, Saturday May 21st at 6pm (don't know if that's EST, Central or PST). Of course if you believe the Mayans, it doesn't end til 2012. LOL !

So, to paraphase REM, if it's the end of the world as we know it... what are you going to eat ? Now, keep in mind, that since the world IS ending tomorrow, we need to keep things local. Not that I wouldn't enjoy flying off to Rome for a gelato and glass of wine or two or three.

Nope, it's the end of the world, what are you going to eat that's nearby ?

Well, first off, I'm going to the Cheesecake Factory and EAT a whole slice of cheesecake !! I may have the pineapple upside down cheese cake or maybe the black forest cheesecake. Of course, since the world is ending, I could have both. LOL !!!

I'd also want to have a lobster roll from a favorite fish place i.e. the No Name Restaurant. That's lobster salad on a toasted bun and the bun needs to be buttered and grilled on both sides ! Depending on how much time I had left, I might even have the Fisherman's Platter. That's a massive plate loaded with fried fish (haddock), fried clams, fried scallops, fried shrimp, fried mushrooms, french fries, onion rings AND some cole slaw on the side for veggie. LOL!!

Yeah, I'm OD-ing on fried food !!! Of course, I could take the commuter rail up to Rockport and have the Fisherman's Platter there too.

So, how about all my Spark Buddies ? What are some foods you'd like to enjoy before the world ends in a big ball of fire tomorrow ???

I would eat ice cream. Enjoying reading your blog. You are a very intelligent and interesting writer. Isn't it amazing how many people judge foolish followers of Jesus but not Jesus himself? He said no man knows the hour or the day when he will return in judgment. But the astute in his prophetic Word will recognize the season. He is coming and it will snap as a trap on the arrogant, rejecting world -- and they shall not escape (his words).
By the way, have you discovered the ultimate purpose (meaning) of life? Or are you "lost"?

Dang! I missed it. The world has already ended (it's after 6pm).

But... if I had had the chance, I would have probably visited the local Italian restaurant for some of their awesome Tiramisu, then over to another mom/pop place that has the best three layer homemade chocolate cake, get it to go, and stop by the store for a half gallon of premium ice cream, and home to enjoy it to the very last bite.

Then... If I got more time and the sugar is tearing up my stomach, I might figure out what real food I might want. LOL

Well.... IF the world IS going to end tonight, then money is no object. SO, I would start with Cheesecake Factory- 1/2 chicken salad sandwich and soup with a slice of red velvet cheesecake and coffee with real cream for dessert. Then, I would go to my favorite sushi restaurant (Mikuni) for dinner, since Cheesecake Factory was lunch, and order 4 different special rolls and then fried cheesecake for dessert chasing it down with 2 pomegranate martinis. The question that I have for everyone then is.... who wants to come with me?? Lunch starts 4 hrs from now emoticon

Oh, that molten chocolate cake is pretty good....and some French fries, right out of the deep fat fryer....

Or I would just stick to my normal eating, have a lean chicken breast, or salmon, some asparagus, add a rustic, hearty bread with some real butter on it....and a glass of wine with some dark chocolate for dessert, and avoid the pre-rapture stomach ache I'd get with the cake and fries... emoticon emoticon emoticon

I guess I wasn't paying much attention to this prediction either...

I would have a nice slab of rump roast cooked with pepper and garlic in my crock pot. I would have half a sweet potato and some broccoli cooked in the microwave with it. And a nice, big glass of skim milk.

Wait --- that's what I just had for supper. Guess the only change I would make is to have more of the scrumptious broccoli... Or maybe prime rib roast instead of the rump roast. Definitely something beef, though.

This was good food for thought...

Well poop. I knew nothing about the 5/20/2011 end of world date (I have heard about he 12/12/12 mayan prediction tho).

This reminds me of the end of the world predictions with the millenium when I bought gallons of water and enough batteries of all sizes to maintain China for a year.

If I really thought I was having my last meal, I would go to Ruth Chris Steak House and order their filet mignon and lobster; drench a baked potato with real butter and sour cream, and if the rolls were warm, eat a few of those.

I cant do dairy much these days, but since the world was going to end I would definately do the most decadent ice cream I could find about an hour beforehand.

Its not going to end tomorrow or on 12/12/12. If it does seem like it will happen I will simply break open some Johnney Walker Gold and enjoy.

I have decided to continue eating with moderation (just on the off chance that tomorrow is not the day). emoticon

I may treat myself to a Rocky Road Cake Pop from Starbucks this evening. Those are sinful enough to keep me firmly planted on the ground through the Rapture!

Ok, I'm meeting you in Rockport for the seeing eye dog from Top Dog! :) Oh man, I love those things! Then maybe some clam strips from Woodman's in Essex (I can't usually eat them - badness ensues) and finishing up by heading back to Boston for Chocolate Chai at Max Brenner's.

But then I think... do I really want to feel like crap when I get to the Pearly Gates? LMAO.

Bagel, cream cheese and lox with onion.
French baguette, some stinky triple-creme French cheese, red wine.

Well, we already had homemade chow mein last night. It's one of those meals we could eat almost everyday we love it so much. I'll probably fix another of our all time favorites, salmon cakes. For dessert, Mother and Gramma will have a slice of sugar-free marble cake and I'll indulge in a Jello Temptations. Either the strawberry cheesecake or French silk pie flavor.

Haha! I could go for lobster and cheddar biscuits. For dessert, chocolate cake.

Think a FAT chipotle burrito for breakfast. A whole cheesecake for mid morning snack. lunch would be a chinese buffet. Red Velvet cupcakes for the PM snack, and dinner.. time to go all out right? So, I'd chose a whole pan of enchiladas, mexican rice, fried ice cream, followed by steak and french fries. YESS!

I would have my mom's homemade fried chicken for breakfast cooled and put on bread with full fat miracle whip and salt.
Lunch: Mom's beef Stroganoff with a can of Hominy
Dinner: a box of Kraft Three Cheese Shells!
Dessert: an instant Jell-o brand Cheesecake.

If it's the end of the world... I'm going out with a bang! MY zipper busting out! LOL Since this isn't the case, I'll be sticking to my regular Spark foods... not the food listed above. But it would be lovely =) Thanks for the cute post, I love it!

Love Snikwad's comment to this. :) If I was going to live it up before the Rapture, I'd probably eat my weight in sushi and then round it out with as many brownies as I could handle. Oh, and wine. I'd drink a LOT of wine. Yay! emoticon
