Pat, I think you got some great words of wisdom on your dilemma. I was going to comment too, but I don't need to. They've sent you a great message. : )

Not to worry, Pat! You're staying in touch with your friends simply by blogging! What better way to reach the most friends possible?

Most of us who have been on SP for a while have accumulated more friends than we can reasonably keep in close touch with. I think I can speak for most of the group when I say that we're delighted when a friend stops by, but we don't feel slighted if we don't hear from someone for a while. Everyone is busy these days, and the only way I could keep in touch with all my SparkFriends is if I sent out a canned message (like the dreaded Christmas newsletter) every once in a while, and who wants that?

Also, my mother used to say that, "the telephone works both ways", meaning that, instead of complaining that someone doesn't call you, you can always call them. I figure if someone is really fussing because I've not been in touch, they can always contact me. Otherwise, we'll get to one another when we can.

I do try to go around once a week or so and send a goodie to someone I haven't been in touch with, so they know I'm back there, high up in the stands, cheering for them even if they can't see me.

You are such a sweetie. Pat, please just do what you can and that's enough. You are a wonderful Spark Friend!

It can be hard to spend time with our SparkFriends that we would like to. Use the time you have on the computer to do the things that help YOU keep on track. Your Friends know that you are there for them when they need you.
