Time for some changes!

I have to admit. I have been idle. I go with the flow, make little effort, find too many things to do and I get nothing done.

I usually just go with what ever works but I can't do that any more. I have to get on the ball! I haven't been training. I haven't been working out. I haven't been on spark. I haven't been tracking my food or water consumption. I have been idle and it shows.

I need to break free of the blah that I have become. I went for a 6.5 mile run this past weekend with Brad and Kris and it really hit me just how out of shape I became. I went from running marathon distances to struggling for 6 miles in just months.

This month I have started lightly training again. I need to ease back into it because I am not used to the heat and I have lost a lot of fitness. I have run about 15.5 miles this month and so far so good. I have also been to the gym a couple of times in the past few weeks. This morning I had my first spin class and loved it! It was the most amazing butt kicking workout and just what I needed. I could zone out like I used to while running. I could get lost in the peace of the workout. It was nice to have that feeling again.

I am finished with the LLS TNT fundraising. It was hard but it's done! For a while I wasn't sure if I would make my fundraising goals but the 5k Holly and I put on was such a success it put us over goal (thanks Jenn for the suggestion). Thankfully! The fundraising efforts became a full time job and now that's one less item on my plate!

I have the San Diego RNR half marathon in just a few weeks. I am trying to pick it up so that it doesn't kill me. When I get home I am really going to hit the ground running. Literally! My next race after that is the Make it by Midnight in July. This is one that I am super excited about. I FINALLY get to meet Becki and Wendy!
After that I won't have a race until fall which will be Savannah RNR half marathon. That will give me time to train hard for the Space Coast marathon in November. I really would like to PR the crap out of that race. I found the training plan I am going to use. The plan I found for me is the Hal Higdon Novice II. My other goal is to be at goal weight by then. That's about 30lbs in 6 months. I can do it but it won't be easy. I just can't be idle any more. I am tired of being blah. I am tired of going with the flow just letting things happen. I want to make things happen!

P.S. I am still working on my garden. I have some zucchini about ready to be picked! My dogs jumped the fence I put up and killed a lot of my veggies. BAD DOGS!

Well, time to get back to work.
