It Has Been A While Since My Last Blog

It has been a while since my last blog. I have been doing OK for the past couple of weeks. Sleep is better for me. It is more back to what is normal for me. I am getting 4-6 hours of broken sleep a night and maybe 7-8 on the weekends.
I have done a lot better with food choices. I go to the store and I look at chips, cookies and crackers. But I can honestly say I do not buy them. I have SparkPeople to thank for that. Believe it or not I do not buy them because I do not want to have to log them once I have eaten them. So thank you SparkPeople....LOL
I am still working on getting back to where I need to be with exercise. I seem to do OK on the weekends, but still having a hard time during the week. I work 2 jobs and it seems like once I get through with that I just don't have the Umph to do anything. It is not as bad as it seems. My primary job is an 8 hour job with about 45 min commute round trip. So with lunch that is about 9 hours and 15 min of my day. My second job is a part time, work from home job. I try to do a couple of hours a day at that one. So I have time to do both and exercise. I have not had problems in the past. But for some reason since I have been back to work since surgery for Carpal Tunnel, it has not been so easy for me. I need to find that motivation. Part of it is I used to go straight to the gym that is where I work right after work. But lately I have been having to come straight home to make phone calls for my second job. I think I am almost through that phone call phase. Once those issues are resolved I will be able to go back to the gym.
My kids took me to Yosemite National Park for Mother's Day. We had a blast. We were only there for one day and were not really sure what we were going to do. We did go to two of the falls and they were Awesome. We would like to go back next year and do the hike up to the Upper Yosemite Falls. That is a 6-8 hour hike. My goal is to lose as much weight as possible. I have Osteoarthritis in both hips, Degenerative Joint Disease in both Knees, weak ankles, High Blood Pressure and Asthma. This will be a real challenge for me. So I have challenged my 22 year old daughter to see who can lose the most weight before our next trip. Of course it will be percentage of weight lost. So this is my new goal. To lose weight and get in shape for this hike in Yosemite.
