Eat to Live-This week starting May 16th

This week is all about eating right.
When I went to the Doctor back in April she recommended Eat to Live (ETL), which is a vegan style of eating (healthy, natural foods, not vegan junk food) that maximizes nutrients at a lower calorie intake. Well, I have decided that, now that I have eaten more than my fair share of chocolate bunny, I should really get going on that. In true Loren fashion I have set up a timeline with rewards. Hopefully this time I’ll actually follow through with said rewards (usually I cheap out and just let them slide). I know it is also reward heavy, but I’m hoping it will help, or not. Many of the things I need, I’m just too cheap to get.
Starting Monday May 16th.
Eating vegan (ETL), mostly fruits and veggies, with more veggies added on. I plan on doing mostly raw vegan, because it sounds like fun. These foods need to be very healthy natural foods, not junk food with no animal produces in them.
So why am I not starting RIGHT NOW? Well I am eating pretty good, but this weekend is DH birthday so I want to have ice cream cake with him :). I employ most of these ideas already, I just need to stop snacking on chocolate bunny and ice cream.

So why not raw raw? Well I do a lot of weight lifting and I want to have beans in my diet for protein. Many beans are toxic if not cooked, therefore I will be eating cooked beans (ETL also highly recommends beans so I works with my first plan).
Vegan also means no dairy (ETL and raw). I have changed over to almond milk. I am still using my protein powder. 1) I paid for it so I am going to use it 2) Weight lifting -I don’t want to risk my muscle development and repair.
ETL also has pasta, rice etc out so does raw. I currently eat some type of oat in the AM before working out (right now it is oat groats yum!) But I think going with fruit and veggies alone before working out would cause me to pass out, not good when you are military pressing two 25 pound dumbbells :).
So what will I eat? Lots of veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds (sprouted) etc.
I’ve also given myself 1 extra serving of ice cream cake during the week.
I also have one meal of eating off. That way if I go out to lunch or dinner I can have a treat.

I want to find and try two recipes during this week.
I want to keep up in my 3 weight training and two cardio days/week
I am thinking about adding a bit more cardio in, but not sure about that yet.
I also want to plan out some kind of carpooling thing with DH (he is starting his internship where I work) that doesn’t ruin my workout schedule. No he isn’t willing to workout even though he gets free gym access- I already asked.
Monday May 16th: Tell DH how good of a day I had -The first day usually goes pretty well.
Tuesday May 17th: Bath - It should be chilly next week so I might turn up the water heater
Wednesday May 18th : Workout socks – I’m down to about 1 pair, good thing I do laundry every night.
Thursday May 19th: New fruit- something exciting!
Friday May 20th : Shorter necklace chain – DH said he’d “get” me one for Bday, which was in April
Saturday May 21st: New workout pants -We usually have people on Saturday for hanging out, and DH and I have custard for evening, going to be a rough time. I also only own two, 1 long, 1 short.
Sunday May 22nd: Working out water bottle with a straw- I currently use a aquafina bottle and have for a while. Not good, and I sometimes dump it on myself when trying to drink while doing something active :)
Now to actually do it, and post about it....
