Can I have a "do over?"

Friday, May 13, 2011

In life, many of us wish there was an opportunity to "do over" many of the choices we have made. Most of them, however, are done once they are done. I was commenting on a friend's facebook post this morning and this thought came to mind: "I can have a do-over!" My post was, "Today I am getting myself off the Dr. Pepper (AGAIN)!"

Baby steps.. gotta get take this one baby step at a time. I just had my thyroid removed last Thursday. Gonna get myself off the Dr. Pepper and then work on something else after that. I have been with SP for almost a year now and think of the milestones I could have reached if I had only stuck with it. Well, I can't "do over" this past year, but I can keep trying to beat these obstacles one at a time. I can do-over the trying. :)

To some, this may seem like a negative entry and it is only negative in they way that I have not succeeded as I should have this past year with having such a wonderful resource as SP. I am looking at this as a positive start. One thing I know I have to get past - stop worrying about my other family members that are not following the plan and worry about myself. If they see me succeed they will long to succeed. I am hoping that the changes within my body (loss of troubling thyroid and getting consistent replacement therapy) will aid me in my efforts.

We shall see... stay tuned!

So they say "honesty is the best policy" - I just updated my weight tracker. I guess I didn't realize I had got this out of hand :(
