My sister needs a kidney!

My brother-in-law Mike is trying to get the word out about my sister Anne. She is in desperate need of a kidney. We have a page on Facebook about it if anyone is interested or can help get the word out! Thanks, Cathy

A few simple acts could mean the difference whether we find a suitable donor or not. I have realized that we can not ask anyone to donate a kidney to Anne, we just have to get the information out there and if someone is willing, they will come forward. ... This is where the majority of my friends out here can help...Spread the word. A simple act of liking a page & sharing it with your friends could lead to a successful outcome. Do you know a reporter who would be willing to write a story about Anne's search for a kidney? Do you know someone famous who has a large twitter following to help get the message out? (See recent post about Donnie Wahlberg) Do you have an idea on how to get the message out? It may not seem as though Anne is in desperate need for a kidney since she doesnt appear to be sick, but when your kidneys are only functioning around 10%, the time is NOW to kick it in high gear and get her a transplant. Otherwise, within the next few months Anne will have to begin dialysis 3-4 times a week, for 3-4 hours each time. Soooooo..... here is some basic info to share with your contacts: Anne Casale-Skinner 43 y mother of 4 kidney failure cause: polycystic kidney disease (PKD) inherited from her father current kidney function: around 10% (dialysis to begin once you fall below 10%) on transplant list at MGH Boston (expected wait time for a deceased donor 5-7yrs) contact person @ MGH Anne Seaward-Hersh, Donor Coordinator 617-643-6513 for anyone that does call MGH to inquire it is done confidentally and they will not tell us any information, which is fine since we want a potential donor to be able to educate themselves and make a decision without feeling any pressure from us....if you do need further info, check out the calling all kidneys page or the kidney kidney kidney...were not kidding we need a kidney group, on each of those sites there is discussion pages and links that may be helpful.
