My week 2 so far..

Thursday, May 12, 2011

I'm still feeling pretty freakin amazing even though TOM is here. The weird thing is the huge cramps that strap me to the couch during my visit with TOM have been loosened. A lot. A month ago if you would have asked me to work out while TOM was visiting I would have told you to go to hell.. but in nicer words. But miraculously working out seems to shove them away so they're only now a minor annoyance.

I'm starting to see working out now as a part of my day instead of something I have to force myself to do. I talked to my brother the other night (who has the metabolism of a freaking god I swear.. jerk!) and he was telling me how he's addicted to working out. I was like "Are you crazy??" But as he laughed he said "It's the endorphins. Who wouldn't get addicted to something so healthy that makes you feel great about yourself?" And it's true. I think I'm addicted to that feeling I get after I work out. That "whooo that was rough.. but I feel awesome!"

I know I'll hit more bumps in the road as I keep on this journey but I just wanted to write this down that

Aren't those little side effects awesome? You really notice it as you go - little aches and pains disappear, you get sick less, and you just generally feel so much better. That's why I say now that if someone offered me an instant weight loss pill, I'd turn them down because I don't want to give this up!

Great job with the workouts, too. I love the feeling when it really starts to click and feels like a part of your life. It can take a while (I still have to talk myself into it some nights), but it's so comforting to know that it gets easier with every workout you do.

Do me a favour and bookmark this post. The next time you're feeling down or needing inspiration, go back and read these words and remember that this is exactly why it pays to do things the right way. You're doing great!
