Farewell - for a while

Thursday, May 12, 2011

SparkFriends, I have to say "Good-bye" for a little while for good reasons and bad. First the good, we're leaving for a week long vacation tomorrow(Lake Tahoe and San Francisco).
The bad news- our house is soon to be ripped apart-literally. We have discovered that the drain pipes within our concrete slab have deteriorated and have been leaking for who knows how long out into our foundation. The only way to fix this is to take a jackhammer to the floors and unbury the lines and replace them. Plus, find all the damage caused by the leaks and make repairs. Then my house will be put back together. All of this will take weeks. So much for spending my summer writing!
The really good news is that my stress level has been through the roof this past week, but I have continued to eat well. For the first time in my life, I have felt in control of that area of life.
Prayer Request- Please remember us in your prayers; Specifically that insurance will help in paying to put my house back together. I know they'll take care of water damage, but it's still up in the air about the damages caused by cutting our floors up. They do not cover replacing the pipes because it's considered an "aging" process.
I know I will not have much time to be on-line. I will miss you all, but I will take care of myself and will look forward to seeing how well you all are doing when life gets back to normal.
Take care of yourselves and Thank you for all your prayers and support over the past few months.
Roxanne

P.S. Because of the amount of storm and flood damage in our area, the adjustor cannot even get to us until May 31st. So it's turned out to be good timing because we will be gone for a week. Right now, I can't use the washer, kitchen sink, or dishwasher. I've been "Camping" out of my house this week.

Hope you are enjoying your vacation, I bet you weren't expecting snow. We live in Vacaville CA, only about 2-3 hours from Lake Tahoe, crazy weather this week.

I hope all ends well with your house. I will be praying for you!!

I'm going to miss you, girlfriend, but I understand your joy in going on vacation and getting away from the mess that will be going on in your house. Have a good time and let us know when you can be back.

Roxanne, at times like this, we can rely on God's promises:

" And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28 NKJV)

I'll pray that you and your family will be at peace with the circumstances, and come through stronger than before.

Please don't forget us... emoticon emoticon

It really is a good thing you're gone this week! I'll keep you in prayer, both about the house and about doing well while non-sparking. God knows and He cares! Pop in from the library or something if you get the chance. Otherwise, hope life is less stressful away from home! emoticon
