Can't believe it

Well this was the 2nd day of my challenge. Mom wasn't supposed to get to come home from the hospital for a few days but I got a call while out to lunch with a friend saying she had to go home today. That threw the rest of my day off.
I was to be there at 3:30 so the respiratory therapist from a local pharmacy could come and show me how to do mom's bi-pap machine. She got there at 4 and left little after 5. The nurse who had started the discharge papers left and 3 so another nurse took over. She was told by the 1st one that all the paperwork was finished. Well...after many questions and trying to figure things out, it was finally finished about 6:20. Then of course, we got to wait 45 minutes for a wheelchair!
So, I had an early lunch and lots of water throughout the next few hours. At 6:00 I was suddenly starving! Finally gave in and hit the vending machine. Thought I would be somewhat healthy (right...) and got peanut butter cheese crackers. At least it was better than a candy bar... Of course, I was so hungry that I grabbed the better of another bad choice..snackwell cookies.
We got home at 7:30. I then had supper which was ok. Now keep in mind that while mom was in the hospital I have really done better with my eating. Tonight reminded me of why I need SP sooooooo bad now. Mom eats continuously after supper. She had at least 4 snacks tonight! Willpower is NOT my friend!! However, I didn't do as bad as I was doing before. I had a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich and went back for a 4 pack of cookies. Not good but trust me, could have been so much worse.
Now...after all of that I just knew my calories would be a few hundred over my range but somehow I was within range! I could not believe it!!!
Just so you know though...I had great plans for tonight. I went to the store and bought grapes, apples, canteloupe and strawberries. That was going to be my dinner and snack. Well, they will be here for tomorrow and it will be a great day!

There's always a curve ball with any challenge, especially when you are the caregiver, you're on the right track. Remind you again, it is okay to take care of yourself first, if you don't you can't help anyone else.

I just read something that grapes are good for joints that ache! Of course if you're like me, love them and haven't got enough sense to stop after a few. Have you tried them frozen?

There's a great video exercise here, 20 minute seated that I've made friends with again. Found that even doing a few minutes helps, so work your way up to the full 20.

Hoping and praying that all goes well for your mom.
Night time snacks have always been my downfall - you made great choices in your fruit purchases. I have found that when I keep fruit cut up and readily available I'm more apt to eat them.
