We have not come here to take prisoners

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

I've been going through a bit of a rough patch recently, exacerbated today by a hurtful incident. I went to a favorite poetry spot for solace and this verse from "Oh please" by Hafiz jumped out at me:

"Run like hell, my dear,
from anyone likely to put a sharp knife
into the sacred, tender vision
of your beautiful heart."

So I'll continue to be, to a great extent, absentee as I work on healing my wounded heart (by learning to "surrender ever more deeply to freedom and joy") and preparing for the summer in South America . Please know that SparkPeople is my "social network" of choice, where I've found dear and precious friends. It not only keeps me honest and offers beaucoups resources in my journey toward optimal health, but also offers a balm to my soul through all of you who support me on the journey.

Oh please

We have not come here to take prisoners

But to surrender ever more deeply
to freedom and joy.

We have not come into this exquisite world
to hold ourselves hostage from love. Run, my dear,
from anything that may not strengthen
your precious budding wings,

Run like hell, my dear,
from anyone likely to put a sharp knife
into the sacred, tender vision
of your beautiful heart.

We have a duty to befriend
those aspects of obedience
that stand outside of our house
and shout to our reason
"oh please, oh please
come out and play."

For we have not come here to take prisoners,
or to confine our wondrous spirits,
But to experience ever and ever more deeply
our divine courage, freedom,
and Light!

~ Hafiz

Time and time again I can take my hurt out and look at it, turn it this way and that, knowing that the hidden gifts will begin to appear. I have faith you will too. emoticon

How are you my friend? I am sending light and love to fill your mind, body, and soul with. We are all looking for our own happiness. Some grab at it so forcefully that the house of cards comes tumbling down, bruising all in the way.

It sounds like you will have a lovely summer and hopefully come back to a place of your own that's "Just Right".

I join with the others in forming a circle of love for our dear friend. Oh, that we could stop the hurt.

This hurt you have to endure is for a reason. It's for you. The joy of this healing will make you stronger for something yet to come in our great adventure.

My greatest joy in my trip towards getting healthy has not been the pounds lost, but the healing of my spirit. I'm not quite there with forgiveness but the load is definitely getting lighter.

You, my friend, lead us with love. We cry that you hurt but we know that you will be singing very soon. And with more love this time. emoticon

Look first to yourself for what is right with your world, you live there. While others may have their opinions or ideas it is you who have the answers to what is best for you. If it takes sparkfriends to ensure you you have the foundation to lift you up, we are here.

Tea and sympathy for you my dear Maha. Hope it helped to write about it and that all the kind words posted here are balm to your spirit. You share so much love and beauty in your blogs it seems inconceivable that anyone would intentionally cause you pain. Perhaps the other party was coming from a place of pain or misunderstanding. Be assured that your presence is treasured by your spark friends!

Poop on the poopie that is so arrogant that they would wound your sweet beautiful heart! Know that people lash out when they cannot express their frustrations in any other way. That doesn't excuse their nastiness, but it does help you understand their pitiful existence!

You know how DEEPLY loved and cherished you are and I hope you let any unkindness roll off your persona like teflon!

It is probably verifying just how necessary it is for you to run like hell to a happier peaceful place!

Hugs, hugs and MORE hugs and peaceful prayers are being sent your way! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My dear friend, Maha - You know that I am just a phone call away if you need to talk (or like Carol says, complain, whine, curse and/or scream)!!

You are very impressive in how you take care of yourself and where you find solace, my dear.

    With love,

I hope no one made you sad. If they did - let me know and we will form a Spark Posse` and hunt them down. Bless your heart. I loved the poem and am off to read some more. Hang in there and be good to yourself. If someone did hurt you, it is only because they don't like themselves. Your gentle heart is priceless.

Take care, my friend, and let me know. We will take care of them!
