Looking in the face of Monday

Monday, May 09, 2011

Mother's Day - I got a card from each of my sons. My son and his wife came for a quick visit. My younger son sat with me last night and we re-watched this week's American Idol. We share a lot in music, so that is where we meet. I felt rather poorly most of the day, without much appetite, and my face doing the same thing as my ER visit April 18, with just not as much joint swelling, though lots of joint pain. The rash is just on my face, and sometimes gets itchy. It looks better today than yesterday, but is still there. Angry red!

Sunday was a rest day, and Peaches the cat kept me company a lot. Hubby got me interested in eating supper by grilling a steak, and serving it with a small baked potato and salad. It tasted good. I didn't get on the computer til late, then didn't even stay on long.

I am hoping to get a call today from my doctor regarding the bloodwork I had done on Thursday. I do not see her until next week for my scheduled check up. Today, I am supposed to go to Physical Therapy. I slept better than some nights, but feel exhausted. I really do not know what is going on with me right now.

I took some pictures of my face to keep track of what is going on with it. I took benadryl, and it seemed to help without giving me its typical side effects.

On a really positive note, my neck scar is fading a lot. That is amazing me because I have always scarred very easily.

At some point back I talked about Plan B, I think I may be on an alternate reality - Something like Plan XYZ, or perhaps it is Planet Murphy.

I am still focusing on getting healthy, I just feel like I have really been given some bumpy detours. I am focusing on rest, rest, rest, sleep, sleep, water, water, water, and trying to eat healthy. Yep. I think I had to throw the scale out the darn window right now. I am also waiting on hearing about my knee arthroscopy surgery, but this rash throws a monkey wrench into my life as well. I really do not know what is going on.

Off to relax. rest. be quiet. Deep breathe. hold a cat. listen to music. drink my water.

Hey, it's Monday, it is a new week, it is home to new adventures in triumph and adversity. Make it happen. The bumps make life exciting.

My husband had back surgery and was eating prunes to combat the constipation caused by the pain killers and he got a really itcy rash on his back and now we think it's caused by the prunes. You haven't been eating them have you?

Enjoy your restful, peaceful evening. All too soon you will be back into busyness land wondering where the peace went..I am currently looking back at my idle days of recovery with Mom, thinking I could use some of that now lol.

Planet Murphy! LOL I have to remember this one for my detours. In a different way it seems to me that that's where I am too: a constant struggle against Mr. Murphy.

However, it just LOOKS that way. Our lives are in control!
I'm wishing you a good week. emoticon emoticon
