Things Aren't Looking Too Good

Hey Spark Friends,

I guess you could say that I have lost all of my motivation. I've not been eating very well, exercising enough or keeping up on Spark. My weight shows this. I weighed Friday morning and I am back up to 208.8. I feel like crying. After coming so far, I see myself slipping back into old habits. The dream of being below 200 pounds seems even further away now. I was doing so well, but it seems like I hit a wall. I know what I need to be doing, but I just can't seem to get started again. After I weighed Friday I got upset and turned to food. I ate 3 cookies and a poptart before I even realized what I was doing. Mindless eating or stress eating are not the solution to my problems. I'm going to turn around now and I want everyone to give me a swift kick in the booty to get me going again. (Turning back side toward computer now...ouch!!!)

Thanks guys for reading my long and rambling rant. Thanks also for being here to support me on my down days. I know that together, we can do this. My love to all of you.

Ok consider your booty kicked. DOn't give up. As nurses we take care of everyone but ourselves. There are going to be days that nothing goes right. Get the tempting foods-Cookies and poptarts where you wont want to go after them.
CHange up something-exercise routine-food- amount of fluids you drink. SOmetimes the little changes help alot. emoticon

I've always believed that nurses are very special people. As I've gotten older, I have begun to recognize that these very special people have their own very special stresses to deal with, some VERY intense even when they aren't personal.

Don't give up! You're only a failure if you quit! Sometimes we NEED 3 cookies and a poptart! Once I needed a half-gallon of heavenly hash ice cream...pretty much all at one time...

You have come a VERY LONG WAY! Yes, it's frustrating to see the scale go up. But you have watched 80 pounds leave! That's a VERY BIG DEAL! There may be SOME people who set out to lose ____ pounds and reach their goal without any backsliding, but I suspect that there are far more who have to bring themselves BACK ON TRACK. I know I'm in the latter group!

Thanks for leaving a post to me about breaking my diet coke habit--i noticed your tracker and the amount of weight you have lost already and can say that it is YOU that is an inspiration!! I think food moods or resolve to stick-with-it comes and goes in waves. I hope that realizing most, if not all people, go through this will help you weather this tiny storm and just get right back on to all those great habits that you mostly definitely have created to have such an achievement so far. My favorite person in the world has a saying which helps me sometimes: "I wouldn't cheat myself". emoticon

BTDT - I'm renewing my efforts as of this week (and I've had a few slips already) - this time I'm picking myself up each time.....if I can do this despite my sucky life, there's no doubt that.....

It was a place and time, that I never remember being. I’m sure I have been there, but when, well I just don't know. So many questions: What does this place look like? What would I feel like when I got there? Would I ever find this place? Does this place really exist? Never thought I would be or go there. It was a DREAM and more than that, a dream that was lost. Lost but not forgotten. Missed placed yes!

December 2009 I started a journey to find this place. Wow….I was so lost and hopeless and ready to give up and DIE. Yet something in me said try again. Maybe just MAYBE I could find my way to this elusive place. What way should I go? Felt like I had a direction so I just started walking one step at a time. Along the way I found healthy eating habits…turned the corner and found Fat Secret website and stayed there a while. I found a traveling friend with Melaleuca (A Wellness Company) and set out for a new terrain. A wonderful friend that I have never met in person told me about “Sparkpeople”. Spark who? Spark what? I was a little apprehensive to go to this website. I pulled into Sparkpeople Town and got lost. Lost in all the STUFF you could do and places you could go to find help and knowledge and friendship and encouragement. Am I so glad I got lost here because fourteen months and eighty-five pounds down the road, I came to the city limits of a place called, “200 Pounds Place”. A place I have been before, but have never been able to leave or at least in the right direction UNTIL Thursday, January 27th 2011. I crossed the city limits to go into new charted territory 198.8 YES!

A quick note about only fail if you stop trying. That goes for EVERYTHING in life. If you don't find success after 349 tries, maybe the 350th try will do it. In other words, if you fall, you get up again, no matter how many times it takes. You can do this....believe you can and you will..........

DON'T GIVE UP! I'm currently having a hard time also...with the stress of school (finals!) and work keep calling me to come in leaves me on an emotional high, which only cookies and hotdogs seem to be the only way to bring it You can do it! Just revise and revisit your initial plan..and ask yourself what has change? What can I do to make this better?....I believe that you'll succeed...
