Dead bird inside my car!
Thursday, May 05, 2011
So I'm at work minding my own business (hanging out at SP!) and I get a call from the security folks. Seems that someone reported a bird stuck inside my car. ?!?!
I left the windows down a bit (3-4 inches) because it was going to reach 90 today and there's nothing worse than coming back to a hot car. Plus, I have no valuables to steal and it's a pretty safe area, with work patrols.
So I go down to my car to see what's going on. I don't like birds in general and was a bit apprehensive. Luckily, the remote control to my car has automatic doors! So I clicked the button to open one door and waited for something to fly out. Nothing. So I opened the other side door, and the trunk (it's a minivan so it's not really the trunk) and nothing flew out. I am relieved, thinking that it must have flown out on its own.
So I look to see if it pooped anywhere. I look on the driver's seat and door and see poop but no bir---oh wait!!! There it is!!!
On my dashboard. Dead. Ewwwwwww.
Well, there was no way I was going to touch that, and there was no way I was going to drive around with a dead bird in my car. What to do? I went back inside and got a co-worker and she said she doesn't mind removing it. So we go back down to the car and I show her. She picks him up and holds him, like a long lost child. She felt his heart and there was no pulse. Yeah, cuz he's DEAD! She said he was very hot and must have died from heatstroke.
So she removed it and threw it on the ground. We have feral cats here and she said the cats can eat him. Gross.
So on another note, my sister the makeup artist reported that she had lunch today with Johnny Depp and she kept spilling food out of her mouth the whole time. We're quite a family.
