I sure had to eat a lot to stay THIS fat!

Wednesday, May 04, 2011

Today I ate a meal I used to eat when I felt ill or emotional. It's ramen noodles+cheese+tuna+peas. I haven't eaten this for a very long time. Today I felt ill,and ate it (I know it doesn't make sense...). This time I measured. I was stunned. It was 1367 calories! I sure had to eat a lot of food to stay this fat! I can't believe how much I used to eat, and how badly I ate. I ate too much fast food, fried food, sweet and salty foods, processed foods and not nearly enought fruits and vegetables! I used to fool myself into thinking I ate healthy because I ate brown rice, black beans and broccolli pretty often. I ignored all the bad stuff and the crazy size portions. No more denial. Measuring and logging have made me an honest woman!

I was SHOCKED when I read the nutrition label on ramen noodles!
They are not filling, or very satisfying. How can they have that many calories?
That's why they call it SMACK ramen.

Definitely true. That tracker really helps!

As THINLIN07 said, I used to eat way too much but was still hungry. Now that I've completely turned around my nutrition, I'm getting good quality food and that makes a major difference in not only my hunger, but my energy levels and other things.

raaameeen! emoticon for me it got very clear. I can't eat what the others consider "normal" food because I can't stop at the infinitesimal quantities needed to stay within calorie range. but I also think that once in a while it's ok to eat even those caloric bombs that we love.

Hm, sounds like a creative comfort food makeover is in order! I used to focus on all the good things I ate and ignored the bad things, too. I always loved vegetables and fruit, but I could eat 2-3 bowls of Oreo O's too.

I know what you mean, I too did that until I started measuring the food. Now I make sure that most of my plate has veggies

It is amazing the volume of good food you can eat for the same calorie count as a burger and fries (my old downfall).

Yes it amazes me too the amount of food and the wrong food I used to eat. I was always hungry too and craved the wrong foods all the time. Happy healthy eating emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
