Carnival Report - Tuesday evening at the Village

Tuesday, May 03, 2011

We went down to the village again, bought some more of the popping things and threw them at each other, walked around several times, chatted with friends, all of that.

Had some more fried oreos - and actually, someone has entered the nutritional values into SP!!!!!! So - 98 calories for one fried oreo, I had two, and that puts me 9 calories over my max. Which I figure isn't too bad, as long as I don't do this every night. (I was still in range with my fat - actually very mid-range - because I hadn't eaten much fat today I guess.)

We were there when the Senior Tramp showed up - this is a short version of the road march for senior citizens, although there were a lot of non-seniors in the group too - so the band stopped whatever they were playing and went into the local song (to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne") - the lyrics are: "We're here because we're here because we're here because we're here, we're here because we're here because we're here because we're here" ad infinitum!

DH and I watched the rides, and I tried to convince him to go on something, but he wouldn't - he gets motion sick, so it's just as well.

Tomorrow is Food Fair - I'm hoping they have REAL roti this time!

LOL Myrna - I think it's that someone knew the melody to Auld Lang Syne but didn't know the words, and just did the "we're here" thing - it isn't just seniors who sing it, my students do too. Maybe it's "we're here" as in we arrived? (Sometimes the cultural gap leaves me clueless)

here because they are not quite dead yet? How depressing is that! 98 calories, I thought they would be double that. But they are very small biscuits even before being fried.
