FYI: Hungry Girl Food Network Fun

Tuesday, May 03, 2011

Hi! emoticon

So I love Hungry Girl... someone on Spark turned me on to it. Who was it again?!? Can't remember. Anyway... her food changing recipes have rocked my world. If you don't know about Hungry Girl, trust me, get on it. She's a perfect supplement to our healthy "Spark-a-fied" journeys.

Talk about changing an over 1,000 calorie meal into 200, 300 tops. It's completely possible! My absolute fave... the Fettucini Hungry Chick-fredo. OMG... so, so good.

Anyway (I say as I start drooling over this pic)! Back to my original point, lol...

Hungry Girl just got her start on the Cooking Channel. However, most of us budgeters don't get that premium channel. So, great news, she's going to be on the Food Network every Sunday in May. Hooray...

So, just wanted to share the info. Check her out. 10am/9am central. Every Sunday in May.

Don't you just love the concept?!? Anybody got some Hungry Girl recipe to share? Lmk.

Yum yum yum yum yum yum.

emoticon...for reading. Leave me a note... I love that!

I LOVE Hungry Girl! My favorite is the simple cake recipe---only using a box of cake mix and a can of packed pumpkin (I love using Spice Cake mix for this, makes Pumpkin Spice muffins). I've also got her 200 under 200 calories book (my mom bought for me, she didn't even know I was already subscribed to the HG newsletters.

LOVE Hungry Girl, I get her emails daily and have a couple of her cookbooks. I have not had a chance to watch the show as yet, but it is definitely one I want to catch! She got me started fixing a variety of eggs in the microwave in a mug; my fave currently is scramble up an egg in a mug, add a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese (either whole or break it into chunks), and nuke. The egg puffs up around the cheese and it is SOOO good--great quick source of protein after a workout, and not a lot of calories, either!!

I DVR Lisa and I watch it Saturdays. I use a lot of her recipes. LOVE the onion rings with fiber one as the batter and I'm so glad she turned me on to dijonasse. That stuff is like a party in your mouth. Her Web site and newsletter are awesome too. Thanks for posting and spreading the word!
