The Weekend In Review & Goal Update

Wow another month gone. April took with it....3 lbs. Not great but considering things I was/was not doing it's to be expected.

Friday evening DD and I went for a 4.86km walk. It was a push to finish and DD was struggling more than me but she kept trying and didn't complain. Once we got home and she recouped she said she wants to do it again.
One of our neighbours/sort of friend (my kids have always done summer work for her) has some work she needs done and I offered. Stepping back and looking at it, this may be the dumbest thing I have agreed to do. I started on Saturday with the housekeeping crew doing spring cleanings on cottages. Saturday was also DD birthday party sleepover. I worked 7 hours - washing walls, moving furniture, washing windows, etc., When I finished work I did the final food/munchie run for the party and came home. I swear I didn't sit 10 minutes and I could barely move. The pain was almost unbearable even with pain meds and rubs. I managed to get through the evening with the girls - except for cutting my hand on a piece of glass while we were making lip gloss and perfumes. Sunday morning, hubby went out so DS helped me get breakfast on the table. If he hadn't helped I swear the girls would still be waiting..lol. I was still not able to do anything around the house yesterday due to the pain shooting through my arms and shoulders. Today, I'm still sore but this is a sore I can work through. Time to get my house back in order from the weekend.

So now for last week's goals:

1. Exercise for at least 30 minutes, even if it's just a walk around the block.
**Didn't get out as much as planned. Have to work more at making it a priority.

2. When making meals, make extra and put in the freezer.
**Didn't have any foods to do this with this week.

3. Stay away from chips and such.
**Let's just say Failed on this one.

4. Eat more fruit/veg every day.
*Did much better this week.

5. Drink more water. I am still struggling to get through the 8 glasses of water a day.
*Some days were better than others, but it's getting there.

6. Start the day by looking in the mirror and telling myself something positive about myself.
*Every day!

7. Write a To-Do list every day to track what I accomplish and keep me on track.
*Done! Even did things not on the list and added them. Also found the list made me stay on track to get things done which freed up time during the day. Spent that time making boiled eggs, banana bread and such for the family.

I will post more on my goals for May later today, this blog has been long enough. It's on today's to-do list to set those goals!

    Keep up the good work. Remember to take baby steps and that 3 pounds lost is not 3 pounds gained!
