Walk for Lupus Now - Georgia Chapter

Sunday, May 01, 2011

Had an amazing day yesterday with the Georgia Chapter Walk which is one of the largest in the country. They were estimating 4,000 walkers, but there were more yesterday. It was a great event and I'm so grateful to my family for walking with me, and to all the family and friends who sponsored us. My husband and I were able to raise over $650 to date which is a great start!

The walk started with a rally and then an awesome drum line got us started off on the right beat! High energy and surrounded by so much inspiration!

so blessed by my supportive family!

So much love, support and hope yesterday! I feel blessed to be able to walk and participate in an event like this. It is humbling to see so many people affected by Lupus, yet not willing to let it stop them from living the best life possible. There was an unspoken level of understanding and support among all the walkers yesterday...not only for those with Lupus, but for those who care for them. Beautiful to see so many butterflies!
My kids are already talking about doing it again next year!

Great pictures! Doesn't it feel great to have your beautiful family supporting you? I know that the year that I did it I also felt like I was finally doing something tangible to fight this awful disease. Thanks for your hard work!! emoticon
