April Photo Blog

Recently logged near our house. A great place to walk the dogs. One of the very few days we saw blue sky.

Downtown in my home town.

A view of Mt. Hood from the logging road. We could see this volcano from our house before the trees on the island got too tall.

The Tall Ships came to visit. That is the Columbia River in the background.

Our Courthouse from the River side.

My retirement party. I wish I could show more pictures, but I don't know how my former coworkers would feel about it.

Signing my IRP "Individual Retirement Plan"

"Here Gramma, I found a Gooey"

Misc: Son ran 7 miles in 44 minutes. Pretty good for a father of two. GS#3 ran the fastest time in the 1200 in the nation in his age group (8th grade). My step kids have all posted a picture of the paper with his time. His dad was really fast in the sprints and my son mentioned above was a distance runner (12th in state). I hope GS#3 goes out for Cross Country this fall. He should be outstanding, but I suppose he can't do that with his football. Too Bad. I like cross country.

Retirement:
Totally amazed that my former co-workers who I had not worked with in almost a year threw me a party. I wish I could have posted more pictures, but did not want to do that without permission. I have a really good picture of all of us together. Even two former co-workers from several years ago showed up to wish me well. I have known or worked with seven of them for almost 20 years. Considering there are only four ECSE teachers in the whole county it was a huge turn out.

For those of you who have written IEPs and IFSPs or even signed one for a loved one you will understand how touched I was that this was actually an IRP meeting. They even did an evaluation report on me and wrote goals. Each goal came with a gift card to help me achieve my IRP goals. It will take me several months to spend everything.

Good friends and good memories.

I sure enjoyed your wonderful pictures & your retirement celebration was a great honor to you. I know how much all this means to you. Also happy you are on my brothers team. He does a great job & not many members. I had time today to spend on the computer (raining outside, can not walk! BooHOO so came to my computer. I am on 4 teams & that keeps me busy & most times I can not do as much as I would like. I do know I love this web site & have found keeping a daily food dairy is my only salvation! I just have to keep at it & take the time! Anne emoticon emoticon

AMAZING - as the person in charge of IEP's for our school (I write or update about 120/year) I think this is an awesome gift. What a fabulous idea. I'm glad you were honoured with it. My daughters LOVE the dog picture background - too cute!

Love the photos. You live in a lovely area.

The retirement party pictures reminded me of mine, almost 3 years ago. Many, many students came. Also several former students. Students almost never come to a retirement party. Even my dean commented that it was the most students he had ever seen. Having the people you care about makes a lovely gift, doesn't it.
