Week 17: Working out is getting harder

Friday, April 29, 2011

So I'm still struggling with working out. I haven't been to the gym in almost 2 weeks and it shows on the scale. I can't believe how much weight I gained in just 1 week so something has to change. I did walk outside on sunday and I did the biggest loser low impact dvd on wednesday but still doing that seems to be too much. My belly starts to tighten and I just get really uncomfortable so I'm thinking that exercising is causing me to have BH contractions. I'm going to try again at the gym and do the elliptical machine and then make a call after that. So I might be nearing the end of my working out during this pregnancy days. I may still take walks but at this point I think it would be smart for me to walk by myself. Even the littlest hill gets my heartrate up and pushing DD in the stroller make it go up even higher. So those are times when DH can take over and push the stroller for me. I will miss working out because I feel like such a slob because all I do is sit around the house all day and moving makes me feel a lot better. I am thinking about youtubing prenatal yoga or prenatal pilates and see what I can come up with.

I can't believe 10-11 weeks left of this pregnancy. At this point, it seems to be going by quickly and I'm starting to get jealous when I see a mom with her little baby. I wanna hold my little boy. For whatever reason, I feel like this time will be much different from when I brought home DD since I really didn't know what I was doing. Plus I was home all week by myself and DH was only home on the weekends until she was 4 months old. Now that we are together all the time now, I'm sure that it will be less stressful on me and hopefully I won't be crying every night. Also having this little one in the summer will be a great help. I don't think I had postpartum depression with DD. I think that because she was born right after we pushed the clocks back and it got dark at like 4pm, that really got me down. Now that it will be summer and have a lot of daylight to work with that it will be much much better.

Next week will be hectic. I have DD 18 month appt and then right after that we have a follow-up with the dermatologist. Since both drs are in the same building, I made the appts on the same day about 1hr apart. Then on Thursday I have my 30th week OB appt. Yeah, every 2 weeks baby and I'm hoping the scale will only be up at most 2lbs but I don't see that happening emoticon.

Hang in there! I would try pilates, floor exercises, exercise ball, etc. Don't overdo it!
And I know what you mean - I can't wait to have our new girl here either! I keep thinking 10 weeks is a long time, but its really not :)
