Struggling

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Ok, so I told you all that I've started back on this journey, well it's not going to well yet, I've gained weight, I've got bad eating habits & I need to kick it in the bud!

I am usually home alone with my lil guy, with not much to do other than take care of him and in between his naps, I get bored, so I eat, I eat things I know aren't good for me, candy, those little chocolate swiss rolls, oatmeal cream sandwiches, all sorts of no good for nothing foods, lol! I'm bad! I started doing this when I was pg with him, now I can't seem to stop!

So today, I've started writing things down that I eat, I'm going to try and be faithful and write every little thing I put into my mouth down. Maybe then I'll be able to get a handle on this eating habit! Or at least I hope!

I walk daily, 4 times a day 3/4 of a mile each way, taking my oldest son to and from school. So that's 3 miles a day! I guess I probably need to get a handle on my eating habit and also add some other exercise a little at a time.

I NEED SUPPORT!

Thanks for letting me ramble and vent about my struggles with this! Thanks also, for any help/advice offered.

Just set a few short term goals that are achievable and then build yourself back up.

    You can do this!!!

O I know how you feel. Its hard when they are that little all you feel like doing is eating. Just stock your house with healthy eats. Light yogurts, fruit, healthy nuts, raw veggies ---carrots celery etc.. I find when I only have healthy options I have no other choice. LOL. Good luck. You can do it. Throw out all the junk and go to the store get some fruits and veggies now..

if im craving sugar I eat a piece of fruit or light yopliat yogurt ( 100 cals) and it takes the craving away. :)

I agree with some of the comments above. First get that junk out of the house and replace it with healthier treats! Like 10 calorie Jello or 60 calorie Jello puddings. Then use the food tracker, once you see how much your consuming in calories by having those little treats throughout the day, it really helps to put things into perspective. I am trying to get back on track myself, and I know we can do this!! Good luck to you!!

Every last one of us has vented here one time or another, so don't go around feeling bad about doing it. I think tracking your food will be a big eye opener about what you need to do . . . in fact you've written about all the things you believe you shouldn't be eating. Recently, a friend gave me a tip: Choose one thing that you perceive as a bad eating habit (let's use salty potato chips as an example). Do what a person would do who has a nicotine habit -- wean yourself from them, slowly over a 2-week period. Once you have eliminated the "need" for those chips pick something else. It may not make sense right now, but think about it -- just like weaning your boys to a cup for their milk. Hope you feel a sense of improvement soon -- nothing's worse than frustration. I know -- I've been there!

    Best wishes,

Just tracking what you're eating will probably get you back on track. I think you should not have all that stuff around your house. Why don't you replace it with some healthier foods? Good luck; you've been such an inspiration to so many! You'll find someone on SP to reignite that spark!

Don't worry we all vent sometime or another and we are all here to help out as best as you can ! You defintely need to get all the temptation out of the house and stock up on healthy snacks. Also if you find yourself getting bored, you need to find activities that get your mind and hands busy, try reading, writing, knitting, gardening or any other thing that takes up time. You also need to staart doing other kinds of activities that would diversify what you are already doing so that your body doesnt get used to it and stop loosing. You can do this, you have the will to do it and will attain it with a little of sacrifice. Good luck!
