Why do I do this to myself? I lost 7 pounds last week and was only 7 pounds away from onederland. Now I binge, have gained back 3! I know What I need to do but I don't do it! I should be having a good day! I am signed up to get my personal trainee certificate in a couple weeks and then my zumba instructor certificate but instead I binge??? I don't get it!!!

I finally found a book that explained to me why I sabotage myself, maybe it will relate to you, too. It's called The Shadow Effect by Deepak Chopra, Debbie Ford, and Marianne Williamson. I have the audio version and have listened to it two times already. It made so much sense to me. Be gentle with yourself, you can do this!

We all slip. It happened and cannot be undone. It is in the past and leave it there. Learn that you can slip and then get back on track. Focus on the positive: you had a net loss of 4 pounds and are only 11 pounds from onederland!

I do exactly the same thing- And have been for the last 4 months.
I haven't even begun to delve in to why either, but it's coming.
I don't want to stand in my own way anymore either.

    Good luck

I don't have an answer for you, in fact, if we did, we would all be thin and happy. You are very close to some of your goals, so be happy about that and maybe happiness will lead you out of binging!!!!

Just a thought here but have you been cutting your calories down and eating foods that you normally wouldn't eat? If the answer is no then maybe you binge out of fear.

Are you afraid of finding success? Are you afraid of really losing weight because you're not sure who you'll be? I know that I've had these exact fears. When I faced them head on is when I stopped binging. I'm not saying that I don't have the urge once in a while but I haven't actually done that in a long time. I figured out what my trigger foods were (popcorn & ice cream were the worst) and I keep them out of my home.

Good luck figuring things out. I am SURE that you can do this!! emoticon
