Why does the scale say I gained weight?

So I have had an Awesome week.... I havent had more than 1800 cals on any day and havent missed a day of atleast an hours worth of cardio exercise, shich resulted in a weight loss of 6.6lbs ... until I stepped on the scale and it said I gained 2.9lbs of that back!!!! I can not figure out what has caused this gain!! Im hoping that it has something to do with bloating due to it being nearly time for my cycle... any thoughts? has this happened to any of you? how did it turn out?

    I hear you loud and clear! My scale is my biggest frustration. I actually have to remove it from my sight so I can't watch as my weight fluctuates. And it fluctuates sometimes by 7 lbs! I take it out once a week if I am in the mood and weight myself. Still I am trying to get along with my scale! Hang in there and don't let it be a discouragement! emoticon

    Most likely water weight & definitely TOM may be the culprit. Also, sometimes loss/gains do not actually register into the number the same exact week which is why people get frustrated with diets, give it time if you are doing the right things like eating within your calorie range & exercise it will come off! Don't give up!

    Don't fret. It happens all the time. You will go up and down and that is why we can NOT rely on the scale for a gauge of how we are doing. You are doing great, keep it up. AND, yes TOM will have a lot to do with weight gain.
