Week 16: Hello 3rd Trimester
Friday, April 22, 2011
So I'm starting the 3rd Trimester up 22lbs. Not that bad considering and that's 5lbs less than with baby#1. So now that the appointments are 2 weeks apart it is going to be interesting to see how the weight gain is week to week. Some times I'll stay the same for 2 weeks and then the scale will jump up a lot. It doesn't seem that bad every 4 weeks but every 2 weeks. Umm. I will see what comments the nurse makes
So I'm still feeling nauseous and the OB suggested that I just eat a little bit every hour instead of hugh meals. I already eat like 5 times a day. She suggested that I breakup breakfast into thirds. So I'm going to start that today. Last night I ate like 1/2 of dinner and was going to eat the rest later but the nausea was just too much that I didn't eat anything else. I still had to sleep upright most of the night. I also have a yeast infection. I mention it because I think that maybe it is causing a lot of my cramping and some of the nausea and feeling like my lower belly is just going to fall out. So I'm interested to see if some of that goes away after the treatment is over.
Working out has been such a challenge lately. It seems like everytime I try I cramp up and just have to stop. I went to the gym on Monday and did the treadmill and just couldn't do it for more than 10 minutes and that was pushing it. Then I hopped on this elliptical type of machine and it was very comfortable for me to complete. I think it's more of a skiing motion than the round motion of a regular elliptical machine. So I'm think I'm going to try that again tomorrow.
Because of concerns that came up at the u/s I had done after the accident, the OB let me have another u/s at my 28week appt. They said the kidneys and bowel looked just fine. WooHoo!!!! But the tech mentioned that my little guy is already a hefty weight but she didn't say how much he weighs now. She also asked me my due date and smiled and said that the measurements all say 7-5-11. She did say that the baby could be going through a growth spurt and it may slow down but even I think the baby feels bigger inside of me compared to what Lillian felt like around this time. My concern is that I want my mother to come down July 4th weekend (weeks before my due date) to be here to care for Lillian when I go into labor. Now I'm wondering if she should come down a few weeks sooner. My mother doesn't work so that isn't an issue. It's just getting someone to bring her because she doesn't drive.
Speaking of the accident. Here is my new car
Here is Lillian in her new carseat. This car seat is the new Graco Smart Seat. It fits from 5lbs to 100lbs. It converts to an booster seat. So we figured that we would just get this one and we don't have to purchase another seat for Lillian anyway. We still need to get the old convertible inspected to see if it's still good or not. Hopefully it is and we can use it for baby#2.
