27 week update

Not that I haven't blogged at all, but this is a happy blog!
We're 27 weeks today! I'm actually leaving in about 30 minutes for a tour of the hospital (eek!) and the baby has been a little wiggle worm. I don't know if she just got a titch older/bigger of if the diet is helping but she is so wiggly now! I've actually started laughing on occasion because all of the movement in there tickles. I also learned last night that she is definitely a night time baby. Last night the cat woke me up around 4am after the chinchilla woke her up because the dog yipped in her sleep (see how this cycle is going to work in a few months? Yeah) and after a quick bathroom break I laid back down to a very squirmy little girl! I think I just lay there for an hour feeling her wiggle around and cherishing every moment of it.
People always say it's unfair that women get pregnant and men don't, because of all the bad things, but I think it's exactly reverse. I can't imagine being in Scott's shoes right now and not being able to feel her move all the time, or just feel so connected to this little being. No wonder women are generally more invested in the baby than the men are! The bleeding, the finger pricks, the nausea all becomes worth it every time I feel her roll or kick or move around in there.
We also got a lot done in the nursery. Well, maybe not a lot, but it's finally painted! Now we just have...well, I won't think about it because there is still a ton of stuff to do in there. BUT the walls are painted and off-gassing, the mattress has been in and off-gassing for a month now, we have sheets, bottles (if needed), diapers (cloth and disposable), and we're getting there.
So here is our pretty nursery walls with it's pretty blue painter's tape decoration.
We're going to get some white chair rail to go between the colors to make a nice clean line.
And here is me! I'm curious what's going to happen with my new diet weight wise but I am NOT WORRYING about it. Caps was for emphasis to myself. Really, I'm eating much much better than before so any weight gain is going to be good and healthy.
