Today my husband and I were packing dishes in preparation for moving and I began to think of how much exercise we were getting. We were lifting stacks of dishes and bending over to put them in boxes. We were then carrying the boxes down the stairs to the basement to be loaded into the truck. We were walking from room to room, collecting dishes to pack and from the house to the garbage cans to throw away excess paper and trash. I wore my pedometer all day and at the end of the day had walked over two miles. I wouldn't characterize packing to move as fun by any stretch of the imagination, but it gives me a better outlook to think of it as exercise instead of just a chore. What chore have you done today that you can think of as exercise? emoticon

Peggy, you should have piled up some exercise miles today. Moving is such a major job! When we left for Africa in 68, we had four little boys and we would be gone from the States for three yrs. My Friends and I packed 19- fifty five gallon steel drums with our needs. I was slender then so it didn't make that much difference. emoticon emoticon emoticon
