Challenges & Setbacks

This week we were supposed to think about things that are challenging to us and cause setbacks in our journey. My biggest challenges involve food!! (Who would have thought it? emoticon) I do very well with the exercise part of this but I struggle with healthy eating. My husband is a Captain on a towboat and he is gone 30 days and home 15. We have a 13 year old son and it is so much easier for me to grab something out of the freezer section of the grocery store and stick it in the oven or microwave instead of cooking a healthy meal for just the two of us. I really need to start incorporating healthy home cooked meals into our week. Maybe I could start with one or two meals a week and then work up to home cooked meals every day!! Several people on my Twilight SparkTeam are following the Clean Eating plan. I have looked into it, but haven't tried it.

Another challenge that I have is having snacks in the house. Sebastian is not a real big snacker but I think that I should have stuff in the pantry for him when he gets home from school to snack on. I usually end up eating this instead of him!! I need to stop stocking the pantry with these unhealthy snacks and just focus on fresh fruit and veggies!!

Wow!! All this sounds good on paper. Let's see if I can put any of it into practice!! emoticon

    the plan is easy, following it is hard. but sometimes success can be found by just changing a few nights a week. after a month you may be in more practice with preparing health meals. it takes practice to creat the new habit. some kids will cooperate if they can be a part of making the meals and picking the snacks.
