Living with Fibromyalgia: A time to finally get "me" back

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

After a year of letting my Fibro rule my life, I have finally started to turn it around. I have joined the local gym and along with that, a personal trainer! She's wonderful and is reminding me to slow down and start easy. Don't get me wrong...she pushes me but not to the point of suffering a flare up. She tells me that I can do it, my body will remember how, but it's going to take time. She has told me that I will be able to run again if we build it slowly and there's no need for long, pounding strides. Tomorrow I plan on trying some of the intervals she e-mailed me.

I can't remember when I've felt so good.

She has given me my life back and I'm taking it and running with it. I still suffer from the fatigue but even that is starting to get a little better. By the time the kids go to bed I feel like I can do a few things around the house instead of crashing.

I've just started today to track my calories again since I've gained 7 pounds since last January. My Rheumatologist was NOT happy with that! I'll surprise him in June though!

I will be strong again.

Good night, Sparkers! Sleep well. : )
