A better me...for them. :)

During my usual cleaning spree while my son is at preschool, I had a little 'talk' with myself. I read article after article stating that when you diet and exercise, you should do it for yourself, NOT others.
I disagree.
I find when I do this for others, I get a better sense of accomplishment. Let me explain: In order to be the best mother, daughter, and friend possible, I have to take care of ME. Yes, I will, obviously, benefit from my venture. But, the greatest outcome is geared twords others in my life. I don't feel selfish this way. Yes, Mommy isn't picking you up from Gramma and Papa's until later, but after I walk I will be in a much better mood... This benefits them the most because then I'm calmer, more attentive, focused, and less focused on MY problems. :)
It's also less invasive than therapy... but, I'll jump on that soapbox some other time... :) emoticon

    Your friends and family will benefit from you feeling better but you are still doing this for you .. You are doing it so YOU will be a better mother, YOU will be a better daughter, and YOU will be a better friend.. so you are doing it for yourself even though the others who are close to you in your life will benefit from you feeling better and being less stressed
