Starting to Exercise

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Today I started exercising for the first time since I've started losing weight. We got a treadmill at my house last January but I don't think anyone has been using it. So, I decided to give it a try. It was great! I need to build up my stamina, but I know it won't take me long. I started out with one of the pre-programmed Trainer programs. Whew! After it kept changing the incline I said ENOUGH and switched to just the regular old fashioned treadmill walking! I've lost nearly 50 lbs and I cannot imagine what I would've been like before. I used to get a lot of exercise in at my old job. But, now that I am no longer there, I knew I needed to actually start a "real" exercise plan. So here I am!!

Tomorrow morning I go to my new job. I was digging through my closet trying to find some clothes to wear and came across a pair of slacks I bought the summer after graduating high school.........1997. They are tight, but I could button them!! I haven't been able to wear them since 1998. Ive always been pretty heavy. It was such a good feeling! The sad thing is that I've lost close to 50 lbs and I've only gone down one to two sizes. I was wearing about a 26/28 and now I can wear 24. I thought I'd be down to a 22 at least by now. Eck! But, its all good! At least I can get into the 24 now!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great week everyone!

Nice! I graduated HS in 97 too but I don't think I have many clothes left from that era! It must feel great to be back at your HS size again!

And I hope you stick with the exercise. It feels so good to work up a sweat!

Take your measurements - once you add exercise, the inches will most likely change faster than the pounds. Hang in there; you're doing great!

Just keep going down and the smaller sizes will come! Just think, maybe it 's happening this way to give you some time to save up money for a little celebration shopping trip when you do get into that 22! :) We can try to get there together and then once we are both in a 22... go pick out a new outfit! I am in a 24 too so we are starting from the same point! Great job on the exercising...I am going to take a walk around downtown tonight with Mark before we get cozy and comfortable :)

emoticon emoticon Perhaps the exercise is what you need to help move to that lower size. When I started to exercise regularly, I didn't loose weight, but inches for a while. You can do it! emoticon

emoticon on getting back into those slacks! That's emoticon !!! I would LOVE to have a treadmill but not sure where in our house we'd put it. What I need to do is get rid of that couch and just have a treadmill with our eliptical machine in front of the tv, lol. I bet I'd be at goal weight in no time emoticon
    Blessings, d.
