Trying to decide if I want to go on this diet. I hear good thing and hear bad things. I know a few people who have been on it with great success. Any opinions out there?

I am torn on this one...my educated side says - What, no way, your crazy. Unhealthy, not safe, eat right, exercise and lose weight. I don't care for the self imposed drops.

Now, with that said, My husband did the Dr. directed monitored injections when he was unable to exercise due to his back. He needed to get some weight off fast to relieve the severe back pain. Yes, he lost 40 lbs. in like 6 weeks, no side effects that I know of, but immediately went to a certified trainer and I monitor he diet so he continues to lose weight, otherwise, it was for nothing.

Most everyone I know who has done either the drops or the injections have put the weight back on. Why? They are not changing the lifestyle and habits. That is what SP is all about and teaching folks...

So, I have a mixed response. I won't use them.

I have tried a lot of "Fad" diets over the years and usually lost weight with them. Unfortunately was not able to keep the weight off & often gained more back than I had lost. I have also suffered some heart flutters from my usage of ephedra when it was a common OTC aid. I am working to do this the right way this time & that is why I joined SP. The weight is coming off steadily & hopefully that will help me keep it off when I finally reach my goal. I have lost 22 pounds since mid-January & that makes me pretty happy. I only have 30 pounds to go so I know following calorie counting, changing my eating habits & making healthier choices when I eat out are working & becoming a regular habit for me. That is what works long term & not the "quick loss" fads out there. The long term effects of these "fads" are not tested & often not safe. Think about long term slow & steady weight loss & health rather than the quick results that you might get from the HCG. emoticon

Forget dieting. Change lifestyles. Follow SP. It's been working for me, and that says a lot!

Stick to sparks people if you follow the program it is as good as weight watchers and is free.. Please don't try this diet, this is one diet sparkspeople does not support because it is not a healthy way to loss weight and has made the teams whom support this diet go private..

Ya, I think it's pointless risk. Why hasn't normal, reasonable calorie restriction worked for you?
