Week 14: Accident Details with photos

Yep. That's my car that the insurance company considered totalled. The repairs cost about what the car is worth. The other bad thing is that I only had 5 more months to pay on the loan and then I would have been car payment free. So now we are looking around for a decent car for under $10,000 being that I think we have about $5000 left over after the insurance company pays off my loan of $2200.

Oh let me back up with the details of what happened. It was 4-1-11 and we were on the highway in rush hour traffic and everyone was stopped. Hubby was driving and Lillian was in her carseat. We were on our way to NJ. I was on the phone with my best friend and before you know it, I hear a crash and we hit the car in front of us and the phone went flying in the air. At first Lillian didn't cry but then she started. I think she was just as shocked as we were. Then my next concern was my baby. I was wearing my seat belt so I didn't hit the dashboard or anything. The guy said that he was looking to change lanes and just wasn't paying attention and it was totally his fault. The police and EMT come out. All they did was check my vitals and when we were finished hubby drove me to the hospital were my OBs are. I was monitored for 4 hrs. At first the baby wasn't really moving until they hooked me up, then he was kicking and was just all over the place. I wasn't having any contractions and everything looked in tacked. I got an sonogram and that's when the radiologist says that the baby's kidney's had fluid in it (soft marker for Downs) and that his bowels looked extended (soft marker for Cystic Fibrosis). He also goes on to say he sees this very often with baby's at this stage in development and that it's probably nothing to worry about since all of the my other tests and my 20 week scan were all normal. I told the nurse what he said and she did mention it to the on-call OB. The OB said that what the radiologist thinks is important isn't and she isn't worried about it. I will mention it though at my 28 week appt. I know that I will get another ultrasound around 32-34 weeks so maybe that is something that they can check then. I'm really not concerned about it.

So it's just been a week of nothing but headaches.

Anyway, I only made it to the gym Monday night and I met with my trainer. Hopefully, next week will be better at the gym. I also gained 3lbs this week. I'm totally bummed. I did maintain last week so even if I was up 2lbs, I'd still be on target. So this just puts me 1lbs ahead. I know I need to stop whining because it could be a whole-heck-of-a-lot-worse. emoticon

Well to cheer things up, there's a photo of my now 17 month old baby girl

Wow, that is truly Murphy's Law at its finest for you! That is too bad about your car and almost being payment free... Good luck finding a new one to replace it.

Lillian (I LOVE that name, btw) is a total doll!! She looks like a little sweetie pie!
