This is Little Godzilla. He's the juvenile of the crew. Husband says he's probably hatched this last spring so he still depends on Mom sometimes. He got his name because of the funny noise he makes when he does his "Feed Me" behaviour. He hunkers up and arches his wings and rocks back and forth and makes a weird complaining hissing noise.

Now, why do I imagine this sounds like Godzilla? Many years ago when my father returned from a tour of duty in Vietnam, he brought me a little furry windup gorilla toy. When wound up, the gorilla would rock side to side, raise its arms, his jaw would open and close and I also remember glowing red eyes and sparks. Scared the beejeebers out of me! I would scream and run.

Anyway, this birdies' "feed me mommy" sounds just like the wind-up gorilla mechanism and so there you are. emoticon
