30 Day Gym Streak COMPLETED!

On March 8 I decided to do a 30 day gym streak as I would be leaving for a NYC trip in 31 days. I thought it would kick things up a bit. Today was Day 30 and I went to the gym every single day since March 8 (even though we left for NYC on Day 30, not after I'd finished my streak as I had originally planned.)

I went to the gym every day, no matter what: When I didn't feel well, when I was exhausted, when I had to leave town unexpectedly for a funeral, when I had to attend the funeral (hope that doesn't sound uncaring & callous), when I had to get up early to get to the gym at 5 a.m. today to catch an early flight.

I am really proud of myself for achieving this goal. And after 30 days of going to the gym every day, it now is just another part of my healthy lifestyle. I don't even think about it anymore, I just go. Working out is simply a part of my life. I'm not sure if I'll continue to go to the gym every day. I don't have access to a gym while I'm in NYC but I have Jillian Michaels' DVDs that I intend to do and a resistance bar I brought as well. But I know that I'll make an effort to be more active every day.

Thanks so much to my SparkFriends for cheering me on along the way. It made a big difference to me in pushing myself some days. I'm now thinking about what streak to do next because I know I'll push myself to do something.

So today I got a new haircut to celebrate the new me. I'm almost 1/2way to goal and I know that I'll get there. Here's a couple of photos from today. I'll post some of what I looked like before I embarked on my journey at SP. Today I noticed that my jeans are swimming on me so I think I'll treat myself to a new pair. I can take them off without undoing them and that's great progress, no matter what the scale says on any given day.
