My First Expereince in a running class

I was almost disappointed. I joined the advanced class because I am hoping to increase my speed and stamina. I was expecting it to be like a class, you know, with a teacher and students. Instead it was go out on this road and run for 40 minutes.
So, off we went. I managed to stay with the group for about 5 minutes. Then one by one the group left me. I brought my ipod nano with my Nike+ sport kit and managed to jog 4.06 miles. I had forgotten my earphones and so that was my first run without music blaring in my ears. I found that it was not a bad experience.
I ended up jogging with someone with an injured knee so I had some company part of the way. Not sure if I should brag about being able to keep pace with an injured runner, but the company was pleasant.
When I came home, my hubby asked me how it went and I replied, "If I can run faster, I might be able to run with the rest of the group and maybe find a running buddy." I shall see what happens.
Today is rest day and tomorrow is speed workout. Ha, I could not keep up with a jog, I wonder how I will do. Good thing running is an individual sport and I am only competing with myself. Here's to a new PR by the end of the class.
