March Goals Re-cap, New April Goals and Week 14 Goals

This past weekend I moved into my new apartment! Oh, I adore it! It's going to be beautiful and it really feels like home. I was worried that Apollo would have a tough time transitioning like he did last year when we moved but no, he's taken this move like a pro. I'm so proud of him. Needless to say nutrition and fitness went out the window this weekend. Between moving everything I own and wanting to throw away everything I own, I was constantly ravenous and exhausted. But this week has started back on track so I'm ok with having an off-weekend when I accomplished soooo much.

AND IT'S FINALLY APRIL! Time for me to re-cap my March month goals:

- Hit 142 lbs
- Do ten full push-ups in a row (I can do ten modified right now but only about 5 full push-ups)
- Drink four Green Monsters every week :-) (DONE!)
- Eat three servings of fruits & veggies everyday (DONE!)
- Train for my April 5K (DONE!)
- Pass my Series 7 (DONE! 03/21/2011)
- Take another intermediate salsa dancing class (Done! 02/25/2011)
- Find a new apartment to move into in May (DONE! 03/18/2011)
- Try a new healthy food every week (DONE! My favorite new food was the Oh She Glows Wheatberry salad - yum! I also discovered Think Thin Protein Bar which taste delicious and have 20gs of protein in one bar!)
- Learn to use my new heart-rate monitor (Done! 03/16/2011)
- Zip up a size 6 pair of jeans
- Learn to freeze fresh herbs

Not too shabby since I would consider this my worst month since I started this journey in January. But April is all about cleaning up my act and getting some more serious results! Here are my April 2011 Goals:

- Hit 142 lbs
- Eat four servings of fruits and veggies everyday
- Run my first 5K
- Run my 5K in under 35 minutes
- Zip up a size 6 pair of jeans
- Take a new fitness class (maybe Zumba?)
- Join the gym near my new apartment
- Set-up a workout space in my office
- Get better at freezing food in individual portion sizes
- Take an advanced salsa class (Done! 03/28/2011)
- Try a new recipe every week

I decided to add the new recipe every week challenge to this month too since I really enjoyed that and last month learned that I love wheatberries. I'm excited to see what I'll learn I love this month.

Now onto my weekly goals...

Here's how I did on my Week 13 Goals:

[x] Move into my new apartment on Friday
[x] Pack-up my old apartment
[] Go salsa dancing outside of class one night this week
[2.5] Run four miles (since I'm so distracted with the move I lowered my goal mileage this week)
[] Join the XSport fitness club that is a few blocks from my new apartment
[x] Make 3 green monsters
[3] Stay within 1200-1500 calories four times this week
[] Take progress pictures this week (I've been soooo bad about this)

Not very impressive. I think I need to give myself a stern talking to about keeping my weekly goals, I seem to be consistantly slipping.

Here are my Week 14 Goals:

[] Run 6 miles (I have a 5k on April 23rd so I need to get serious about my running pace)
[] Take progress pictures this week (SERIOUSLY THIS TIME HA HA)
[] Take Apollo to the new dog park down the street from our new apartment
[] Join the gym near my new apartment
[] Update my student loan spreadsheet (Done! 04/04/2011)
[] Fix my upstairs shower
[] Stay under 1500 calories 5 days this week

I hope you all are having the same beautiful spring weather we are having here in Chicago!!

    I like the idea of making monthly and weeky goals. I'm thinking of doing the same. I'm drinking a green monster right now, and it's been weeks since i've had it. Not good! By the way, you haven't got back to me about the protein powder! it's okay haha I ordered it online and hoping it will help with weight loss. Anyway, good luck in meeting all your goals this month. You CAN DO IT!!

    P.S you are lucky you are having beautiful spring weather. It still feels like winter in New York. its 52 degrees right now!

    Not sure where you live BUT there are some awesome Think Thin coupons like 40 cents off per bar and I go to Wegmans which doubles any coupon under 1 dollar off, so I end up getting .80 off the bar and it makes them super more affordable! I wish I still had the site for the coupon (it may just be the thinkthin site?) but I recommend it! Also, awesome job on your goals!! And you will love Zumba class if you like salsa and aerobics!

    I wish I lived closer to you so I could meet you at the dog park! I love those!

    I had to laugh at the "wanting to throw away everything I own." I'm such a devout minimalist. People give me a hard time about it all the time.

    Enjoy your new home! I don't know that any of us would attempt a perfect nutrition/fitness weekend when we were moving ourselves. Maybe if you hired a mover...but it would take pre-planning for sure.

    Hey girl! I just wanted to say congrats on everything, but especially your Series 7! I just got mine in December and it's super hard to juggle studying with working, going to the gym, etc. Way to go!
