April Goals

So, another month has come and gone. March was a hectic, busy time for me--and I could tell that my goals really suffered for it come the last half of the month. However, I'm determined to do better in April as far as the goals are concerned and look forward to seeing what all is going to come about as a result of this!

So, without further ado, here is March in review:

Hahahahaha! That rhymed.

*ahem* Onward.

March Goals:
***Water: 8-10 8oz glasses/day CHECK!!! The one goal that I have been able to maintain consistently since beginning SparkPeople.
***Exercise 30-60 minutes, 5 times/week--Continue with C25K training and add in Water Aerobics, since March is such a crazy month and I won't necessarily be able to get in my evening Zumba class HALF-CHECK! I did well for hte first half of the month, but the week of the retreat came around (mid-March) and exercising went by the wayside.
***Personal care items done twice a day HALF-CHECK (again). See the note about the exercising
***Begin working through the "Made To Crave" Bible study by Lysa TerKeurst NOT MET--I was just too busy, working on other things and my time/attention was focused elsewhere. Which is fine, I know that it'll happen.

Biography to read:
"Mosaic" by Amy Grant. A book with some interesting short stories from her life and experiences. It was a nice change from the other biographies I have read thus far because each of the chapters were a short story from her life. It was neat to get to learn just a little bit more about what has shaped her through the years and reflect on some of my childhood through the songs she shared.

Standard Goals for Whole Year:
***Read Bible & "My Utmost for His Highest" each day CHECK!
***Take a picture and post it on Project 365 & Facebook each day CHECK (sort of). The pictures have been taken, I haven't posted them in a little while, though.
***Write in a journal daily CHECK!
***Blog weekly HALF-CHECK again...see above for the reason why :)

April is a bit more relaxed of a month for me--well, after this morning at least. :) My friend took a trip to visit some family and I volunteered to help her out by subbing for her--basically working her part-time job in addition to my own full-time job. It was a good experience--one that I would rather not have to repeat. Let's just say 1) I'm so glad she'll be back Tuesday (for more reasons than I missed her) and 2) I have a whole new appreciation for people who have to work more than one job just to make ends meet.

April Starting Point:
Weight: 190.8 lbs
Neck: 14 in
Bust: 39.0 in
Waist: 43.0 in
Hips: 49.5 in

It's nice to know that my weight has basically maintained, even if I've gained a lot of inches recently. I'm hoping that most of it is due to sodium intake and/or bloating and not for some other reason. We shall see!

April goals:
***Water: 8-10 8oz glasses each day
***Exercise: 30-60 minutes 5x/week--Within this goal, I hope to *finally* complete my C25K training (two more weeks left, including this one!) and move on to a 10K training program. I hope to start up going to water aerobics again--I'm going to start doing some things on Thursday evenings that conflicts with Zumba and so I won't be able to go to class for the time being. Plus, with the rest of my schedule, it makes more sense to maintain morning workouts--I'm more likely to actually workout.
***Food: Limit the amount of fast food I eat. And when I do eat fast food, make healthier decisions. Specifically, avoid burgers and fries if at all possible. More on that in another (long overdue) blog.
***Track my food as much as possible--I have the food tracking ap on my phone, I am trying to make a point of using it. So far, so good--although I need to log today's food in. There is no real purpose in this, other than to start holding myself more accountable for what I allow to pass my lips. I'm trying to learn to be open about my food choices and not ashamed of them--when I feel ashamed of them, I hide them, which leads me into overeating, secret eating, and other unhealthy habits.

***Tennis with Dena! *gasp* I thought of it, but forgot to type it. I was too caught up in the blogs that I was going to type next

Biography to read:
"God's Joyful Runner" Russell W. Ramsey. This is the story of Eric Liddell, the Scotsman who the movie "Chariots of Fire" was made about. I've seen the movie before...confession, I didn't find it all that interesting, but I'm curious about his life beyond the movie, so I thought I'd learn more about him.
