Help! I am starving.

Friday, April 01, 2011

The later in the day it gets the less satisfying my meals are. I struggle to eat breakfast have never been good at it. Found my lunch extremely satisfying and now dinner has left me crazy hungry. I can't wait to have a snack but I know I have to hold out because if I feel hungry I cannot sleep. I wish for just a couple of weeks till I build better habits that I could turn off my appetite. Someone please help, I need a distraction or something. How do I deal with this One side says fight for this with all that you have and the other says forget it there are chips in the cupboard. I know that if I want to live I have to fight through but it would just be so much easier to give in. I want to live but the hunger is making me crazy..........

I know this is difficult. I haven't lost any weight all winter. I actually put on a few pounds. but I don' t have the same situation as you do. Getting your stomach to shrink up is a difficult thing, but it is doable. Have you tried six small meals a day instead of the regular three meals? I wish I could come up with the perfect advice, but I can only encourage you to figure it out and come up with things that will work for you. One precept upon another. One drink of water and one mint and one carrot stick or what ever works at a time. I just know you can do this. I'm so happy to see you here!

emoticon Oh how I can relate to this blog! For me the key is not getting overly hungry-I nibble on fruit-or veggies-or something low in calories-I also have drinking hot liquids such as herbal tea-or always having a glass of Crystal Lite or something refreshing to grab helps-gum-
    But don't let yourself get:
    Too hungry
    Too tired
    Too stressed

    Easy for me to say-LOL

I also try to weigh in my mind-How wonderful it is going to feel to be able to know I was in Control-NOT the food
Blogging and reading and posting on Sparks has been a wonderful distraction for me
Pamper yourself-Take some me time and devote that time to thinking about something you can read, do, accomplish that would be rewarding and enjoyable-
Be as kind to yourself as you are to others-
    emoticon Cheering for you!

Eggs are dangerous for me if I eat 1 I might eat a dozen. I am trying to drink lots of water but that will be impossible when I go back to work on Monday as I am peeing like every 30 min and I can't do that at work. Andy the popcorn thing won't work because I don't like it without butter. That is my biggest challenge is I am an evening nibbler. I usually like to always be nibbling on something. There is nothing that I can just eat unlimited quantities of that has the right texture and taste to keep me happy. I am so desperate to be successful I wish there were some way to catch Anorexia at least till I am skinny. Being a food addict is like a huge challenge because you can't live without it.

Nice to see you back Merry!

I sometimes find it difficult to keep in my calorie range and want to eat more. Last night I really craved milk and cookies, instead of that had a tall glass of ice water. I have heard that every meal should have water to make you fuller faster. Soup is a good option as well.

At night, what about popcorn? Of course, without too much butter.

Great to see you here. Keep us posted.

Someone once said "Fail to plan, plan to fail." I would encourage you to plan your shopping around the "healthy stuff." Keeping lots of good snacks is very helpful. And having the other stuff even in the house can be very distracting. Get some good clear ice water, Sobe, Vitamin Water, or or fix yourself a cup of your favorite tea. You control your own destiny. Plan well and do well.

For the immediate, it might help if you call a friend or someone else that you know and just chat a bit. Isolating can make things really tough. I trust that you will find your way, YOUR way.

    One step at a time.

eat an egg, or some other good, healthy protien source (that you won't eat too much of-- which, for me, is why I said egg instead of cheese or nuts :))...

go for a walk/ do some gardening...

    drink some water...

Just throwing out a few ideas :).
and remember, This too shall pass!!
