Week 13: Just Coasting Along Now

Friday, April 01, 2011

Not too much different going on here. I maintained at the scale this week. Well I was down 0.2lbs. It seems like I gain, gain, gain, then lose a little bit. But I'm thrilled with my progress so far. I think at 24 weeks that I actually look small. I'm going to be around a lot of people on Saturday so I'm interested to see what they say when I tell them how far along I am. Actually with baby#1, I rented a minivan to take to my baby shower out of town and the people at Enterprise was surprised that the baby shower was for me and that I was 32 weeks pregnant at the time. Even the nurse at the OBs office would say to me "where are you hiding this baby?" It was funny because I thought I looked huge.

Here is me at 24 weeks

emoticon So I met with the personal trainer on Tuesday and we have another session on Monday (so no stepping that night). We ran out of time so Monday's session will be focused on Core work. But I did learn some new moves that I can do to keep up my lifting and not be uncomfortable. He also asked me about my eating and I just laughed at him. I told him that sweet stuff including fruit and yogurt about 75% of the time still makes me sick. But he just went off when I told him that I drink soy milk. It wasn't because of the estrogen controversy, it had something to do with corn or corn products. I think I'd heard it before but it was just too much for my pregnant brain to process. He also said that I shouldn't eat gluten because a lot of the population is allergic and doesn't know it. Our gym offers an allergy test to see what types of foods that you are allergic to. I can see the need for that but will something that I think about doing after baby.

Well so much for having nothing to say. Have a great week and hopefully by next weekend Spring will be in full force emoticon.

I agree with ALP that almond milk is a great substitute. Getting a personal trainer is nice. I hope he/she is knowledgable about pregnancy exercises.

You are looking so lovely! I can't wait until I get past looking chubby to that point where I have a cute baby bump.

You look wonderful! There are days I feel like a barge and others that I think I should be bigger! Lol I don't know what others think (like if I *look* like I'm as far along as I am) or not. Each baby seems to be carried a bit differently, though.;)
Way to go on your workouts! emoticon

Great that you're doing core training. I'm sure you know how much that will help during birth. Congrats!

You look GREAT!!!! I think you've done such a good job!!

If you're looking for another milk opportunity, I highly recommend almond milk -- it is like heaven in a glass! That stuff is the BEST!! Also, lately I've been drinking coconut milk it has 50% more calcium in it than regular milk and a lot of potassium (I don't know if you get leg cramps, but mine quit when I started drinking it...) both make yummy bases for smoothies!!

Keep up the great work and good luck with the personal trainer on Monday!!
