rethinking exersise

Thursday, March 31, 2011

Has anyone read Alicia Silverstone's The Kind Diet? Well, I highly recommend it. The recipes are fantastic. She takes clean eating vegan approach to weight loss, which I love. Her approach to exercise is fairly different.

Personally I've always felt that if I don't sweat profusely and exhaust myself, then its simply not a workout. Alicia feels that even exercise should be "kind" and a long walk in the park is a more natural and effective workout.

Any thoughts on this? Does working out HAVE to be physically tiring?

Most days I NEED a hard, sweaty workout. It helps me relieve stress and fatigues me so I can sleep better at night. However, once a month, when hormones hit, I usually have to take it easy 'cuz I just don't have the 'drive' for a few days. So I take a rest day or two or go gentler on the exercise. I think everyone just needs to listen to their body and do what feels right for them.

I think we each like different things. For me the work hard sweat a lot works best for me it really relaxes me it makes me feel proud of my self for all that I did and I feel so much better but we are not equal so maybe some day it may be good to do it the Kind way but not every day.
    emoticon for individuality!!!
