Tipping the eating out scale

So I am pretty good and packing my lunch and snacks (by which I mean I eat out rarely). But yesterday I was on a roll. I ate our for lunch. Thank goodness I split a veggie cal zone with my friend (whew). But then my friend invited me to dinner and off to the Mexican Cantina I went. I ate less than half of that meal and opted instead for the chips and salsa mixed with one margarita. I went home feeling horrible. My usually deal is to go ahead and keep eating, but instead I sat on the couch and felt sick, and ashamed for falling of the wagon. But at least I didn't eat more? Ug, why is eating out so hard to do?
