The last day of March.... man did it fly by!
Spring is finally here and Minnesota is starting to look and feel a little like spring. The days are getting warmer and the sun is staying out later. I love getting home and being able to go for a walk in the sun. Yesterday I did this with my daughter. We both got a little extra vitamin D, worked our legs with the walking, and picked up some trash around the neighborhood. Such a great feeling! My daughter mentioned to me that she doesn't understand why people have to litter. I think that is pretty awesome that she is thinking about this at her age. So more walks for us to pick up our neighborhood!
Here are the goals I set for March.... lets see how I did!
1.) Take my vitamins everyday. I have been very tired lately and I think I know why.... I am lacking in my vitamins. I need to get back to taking these everyday. And March is the perfect time to get back into the habit!
Vitamins are great and you can tell when you are definitely lacking. I started taking my vitamin everyday and I felt more energy. I tend to eat pretty good but just those added vitamins was a great feeling. I did miss a few days and found that on the days that I missed taking the vitamin, I was more tired. So I am giving myself a thumbs up!
2.) Restart my 100 perfect push ups program. I fell off the push up band wagon but I am going to jump right back on. I will be starting back at week 1 but that is ok.
A big ole thumbs down on this goal. I never restarted the program and I think I will be holding off on it for a while.
3.) Continue my half marathon training and continue to log in the running miles. I have an intense training plan that started Feb. 20 and goes right up to my half marathon. I can't wait!
My half marathon training has been going very well. I really increased my mileage this month and actually ran my first double digit run with going 10 miles. The added mileage has been giving me soreness, especially in my left hip. My body is slowly getting used to running long. In the month of March I ran 62.65 miles!
4.) Start up Friday Fitness! For the month of March I will be taking my family either to the gym or the pool for some Friday Fitness!
The kids had fun with family fitness days. We went swimming, played basketball, went roller skating, and did some walking / geocaching. Now that the weather is starting to get warmer and it is staying lighter out in the evening, we can fit in more family fun outdoors!
March wasn't so bad of a month for me. I am finding that marathon training takes a lot of time but it will be well worth it running that race! I am glad that my family is understanding when I am gone for my long runs over the weekend.
Now to start thinking about April goals!
