I'm Finally Showing Full Body Pictures. My first week Progress.

I unofficially started a challenge with two wonderful Sparkers. Not the same plan, but at least it's a plan! I have not shown my lower body in pictures for 14 months. That was when I came down with bacterial meningitis and was hospitalized for two weeks and had months of recovery after. I left the hospital around 113 pounds and I've been around 125 since three months after that. So I am the same weight as before the hospital, but the ratio of muscle to fat on my body is not the same and I can feel it and see it.

So this is my plan to feel comfortable this summer in a bathing suit. PLEASE feel free to share any comments on getting my lower body in shape. I do squats, deadlifts, walking lunges. I don't belong to the gym for the first time in a long time, so I need at home exercises with or without dumbbells. Honestly I like the upper half of me, it's the bottom that is a pain in the rear!!!

    46 and S-T-R-O-N-G!!!

    Lower body-Home Gym (without weight I'd go to failure on all)
    1. SQUATS
    2. WALKING LUNGES
    3. WALL SITS
    4. BRIDGES
    5. DONKEY KICK BACKS

    Cardio-Home Gym
    1. JUMP SQUATS
    2. JUMP ROPE (nonstop as long as you can rest 20 sec and go again/work up to 30 min)
    3. BURPEES
    4. RUNNING STAIRS

    These are all things that I've done in the past. Here's the thing... NOTHING will work WITHOUT consistency. You have to KEEP ON WORKING until...

    Until you see the results you want.
    Until you LOVE what you see looking back at you in the mirror.
    Until you are satisfied
    Until you are the "YOU" you've always wanted to be.

    Your little man deserves a happy and healthy mommy. You're worth it girl! NOW GO GET IT!

    You look awesome!!! I know it's a struggle for you to see yourself accurately (I have the same problem), but you really do look amazing.

    I also dislike my lower body and can never get it looking the way I want- unless I get too-thin all over... but over time my desire to be skinny is being replaced by a preference for a fit/athletic/curvy look... which is good- because I am not built skinny.

    You are nice and slim with lean muscles and awesome curves. You should be super proud of your body. Keep up the good work!! :)

    Dang...I want your body when I'm 46...forget that, I want your body right NOW!!! And listen to every thing Ruben tells you, LOL...he's the one responsible for getting my lower half in check. I thought I would have to live with my big hips forever until he whittled (and continues to) them down :-)

    I think your top and bottom half look great! what great progress you have made!

    I only workout at home: so here are some of my lower body exercises I cycle through: a variety of squats: 1-legged, wide-stance, jumping, narrow, hack-squat. lunges, walking lunges, jumping lunges. side lunges. diagonal lunge. high skips. hamstring curls on exercise ball. hamstring curl with dumbbell. squeeze exercise ball with your inner thighs. 1-legged stiff-legged dead lifts. wide-stance dead lifts. hip extensions using a resistant band. glute kickback with resistant band.

    And here is a link to a lower body exercise routine I got from another member. it looks killer! Haven't tried it yet, but I have it saved to try out.

    My calves don't have much definition. So starting this week I am really going to work in a calf routine each week.
