Week 12: Pregnancy report 24 week appointment

Friday, March 25, 2011

So yesterday I had my 24 week appointment. I can't believe 6 months already. Only 16 more weeks left emoticon. I get to take another belly shot on Sunday emoticon. So now my appointments are as followed. Wait for 45 minutes, then get called back, pee in cup emoticon get weighed and blood pressured taken. Then head back to see the OB who just listens to the baby's heartbeat and that's it. So the whole things takes about 10 minutes. So the wait time is much much longer than the actual visit. I guess that's a good thing right.

emoticon So my big news is that I'm up a total of 17lbs emoticon. I was totally stressing over the 24 week weigh in. With baby#1, I had gained 10lbs in 4 weeks so I was hoping that wasn't going to happen this time and it didn't only 5lbs. So you think 17lbs really isn't that bad for being 24 weeks and it isn't. I'm averaging about .71lbs a week. But I only gained 1lbs in the first 12 weeks and 16lbs in the second 12 weeks. Well I guess that is the way it's supposed to be right. The baby is definitely getting bigger everyday.

emoticon Step class is going amazingly well. Here I thought I was done 3 weeks ago and I'm still hanging strong. I had 1 lady ask me how I was feeling. Then she gave me a compliment and said that most women would have stopped a long time ago. It made me feel really good. Now if there is a day that I feel like I can't do step, then I don't. I'll still go to the gym but maybe just walk on the treadmill and lift lights weights. Speaking of weights, I'm meeting with my personal trainer Tuesday night. I want to find core exercises that I can do now that I'm starting to get those pregnancy aches and pains. I also noticed that when I did do my weight lifting I get aches also. So I really need him to work something out for me to be able to do.

Well I think that's all for now. Oh no it isn't. We have decided on a name for my little guy, Nathanael Jobe. Hubby wants it spelled the way they do it in the Bible. I was cool with that. So in the end, I got what I wanted emoticon.

I'm now 24 weeks. Good job on keeping up the exercise. I try to go walking a few times a week, but am often tired from working, so I count that as exercise. I do about 16 hours/week of housecleaning.

I think you've done so well with your weight gain! I think that 17 pounds in 24 weeks is awesome! Woo HOOOOO!!

I am with you on the doctors appointments. Seems like it is definitely more waiting and less doctor but I guess uneventful doctors appointments are the best way to go, right??

WTG on your step class!!!! That is amazing that you're still sticking with it and hanging in there! I think it is great that you have a personal trainer thatyou can work with that can help you with the aches and pains. Gotta love those, huh?? Lol!!
