I was a bad bad bad girl at CiCi's Pizza

Thursday, March 24, 2011

The kids kept me from prepping dinner or doing dishes today, so I wanted someplace affordable we could hit for dinner. Since the eldest had started the chant for pizza, I thought we would try the family out at the CiCi's Pizza buffet. All you can eat pizza is a very very bad idea, esp. when they have bbq chicken pizza and spinach alfredo pizza and some kind of chicken mushroom pizza and bavarian cream dessert pizza. I didn't even try to control myself. Did I mention they have mac & cheese pizza and the kids approved.

They also had pasta and the girl child ate FOUR bowls of it. I think she may be ejected from the female gender, though. Given the choice between a brownie and a bowl of unsauced pasta, she ate pasta and drank the remaining pasta water. I tasted the brownie, it was fudgy and delicious. I am not sure what I am going to do with that girl.

I told the husband at less than $20 for the whole family, we could afford to go more often; however, we could not afford to go very often calories-wise. We were both terrible.

Well, G, that is why we don't go often. The twins still eat free there and they eat like a house on fire, and the big kid can pack away the pizza himself. We have to go get two pizzas when we eat pizza, going there is more economical. Only the boy twin eats salad out of all the kids.

Of course, that may be why you are svelte and at your goal weight and I am still hovering at 90 lbs overweight

There is no way to be "good" at CiCi's Pizza, which is why I don't go. There are no good choices there, even with the salad they serve, and 2 pieces of their pizza is not enough to make me satisfied. It's like trying to hold back at an Asian buffet.

However I don't have kids and you really can't beat the price. A suggestion may be to get a Papa Murphy's take and bake thin crust pizza instead and serve it with a salad and fruit at home. It will satisfy the pizza craving and should be budget friendly. It might be cheaper.

My husband LOVES CiCi's...and I can't bring myself to go lately because I KNOW that I have zero self-control around the spinach pizza. Ohhhhh, I swear I could eat a whole one by myself! OH wait...I think I have before.

I'm with Vegas Princess! I have NO control there either. I'll eat only a few slices of pizza but when it comes to the brownies, cinnamon rolls and the apple or custard dessert pizza, well, let's just say two plates don't cut it. ;)
