The first Monday of Spring

Monday, March 21, 2011

I'm trying to find some up lifting stories of success here in Spark People.
It really helps me to do this also to night is the show To Fat for 15...that seems to help me deal with the issues I had at that age , all though I was not as large as most of them I can relate to how they feel, getting back to old hurt feelings might help me with some of the hurt feelings I have now......
I still have lots of deep down hurt feelings that I stuffed down with food ......I know people say just get over it, move on, you have come so's not that easy to forget... and I'm not too sure it's healthy to just forget...each feeling in our lives should teach us a lesson...we can cave in to them or get stronger.....I'm choosing to get stronger. I'm choosing to learn from my mistakes and rejoice in my's not easy but.... one day at a time....

Hoping its going to be a beautiful day, so far a bit cloudy...
I plan on walking at lunch time and maybe after work too.. I do have 4 miles in from this morning so lets see how it goes.....

Lunch is ready to take to work as well as my 10am snack and my 3pm that's my plan for a healthy and happy day.

I also watch Too Fat for 15, as well as the other weight loss reality shows: Biggest Loser, Heavy and Shedding for the Wedding, which I don't like as well as the others. I can identify with some of those kids on Too Fat for 15 too, even though I wasn't THAT big as a kid. There are still opportunities you don't have when you are overweight as a teenager, I had very few dates in high school, and all my friends had steady boyfriends, so that always made me feel very left out. I like Tanisha on Too Fat, she is so determined and tries so hard, she just makes me want her to succeed so much. I also like the young girl who is really not very heavy anymore, but her parents seem to want her at Wellspring until she is perfect. I feel sorry for her, because I know all she wants to do is go home. The new heavyset girl should be successful, Tanisha has befriended her and I think that will help her a lot. She seems to be better physically than Tanisha was. I don't know that either of those girls has much support for the lifestyle they will need to lead when they eventually go home though. It's like that boy, I forget his name, the one who complains and cries all the time and is SOOOO lazy. He annoys me, but his parents are such enablers. They spends thousands of dollars sending him to Wellspring (I assume), and when he comes home they do nothing to help him continue eating and living healthy. Just dumb. Oh well, it's fun to discuss it with another fan.

Like you, I find these shows motivating, and I'm always looking on Spark for other motivating people--like yourself. You lost SO MUCH WEIGHT and are keeping it off. You make me think it really can be done! This new life is so much more important than worrying about past hurts and snubs. Thanks for the motivation you provide me every single day!

It's great to learn from the past hurts. Just don't hang onto it longer than necessary. There comes a point when it's time to let it go and move on. We don't forget, but we don't have to let it drag us down or keep recycling sad feelings once we've learned from them. It's okay to let go when you reach that point.

Hope you have a good day Tuesday and good weather to go with. It's still very windy up here...not good with the fires burning in the hills.

Thank you for your blog. It was quite an eye opener to me. I thought I was the only on who kept dealing with my past feelings about my weight.

You said it all "one day at a time"

Your experience sounds like an opportunity to share the spark with young people struggling with similar issues. I wonder if the spark for teens has mentors.

Kitt do you watch Dr. Oz? He had on a lady that was 700 lbs... at age 15 she was over 300 lbs... at 10 she was I think 200 lbs...or nearly it was a good show and they brought out Ruby to help her and now she is getting help to lose her weight but she must have to deal with the why? when she was soooooo young she was heavy ---think for her it was her father!

    any way good luck
hope you had a great day

emoticon I get that too Kitt, a book I was reading said that people who struggle with these kinds of issues said we tend to feel & have tender emotions, and I think when they come up, that it is important to recognize them and soothe them (in non-food ways! u taught me that ;)

so this is how I look at hurt feelings that my life has dealt me. And there are many. I never forget, but I also look at those experiences now as in the past. I ate for them once, and I'll be darned if i'll eat for them again. LOL Keep the positive thoughts in your head and move on. Blessings on your journey

I'm up, have the nephew's lunch packed, mine made, woke the wife up and now I'm going to head into the other room and do my core exercises.

Enjoy spring! We got a drizzly start here but things are good!
