Week 4, Day 24; Something I've been putting off.

Friday, March 18, 2011

Some time ago I opened an ING savings account. I made that initial deposit (probably like 10 bucks) and then forgot my PIN. I ordered a new one. It's at home.

Today, when I get home, I'm going to set up an automatic payment so that I can forget about it again. I am not good at saving (ok, I have never really had a saving plan) but I think even doing a little something will help. I'd like to retire someday!

You can always start small and work your way towards a bigger goal. Maybe start with $10 a week? That'd be $520 this time next year, which is $520 more than you had before. I read a book once that recommended that women save 12% of their income since we live longer than men do, so maybe that's your long-term goal?

Get in the habit of saving each payday. When it's a habit you can then start slowly increasing that amount. A happy person is one who spends less than they make.

BTW when I move I will be 2 blocks from a Fruiticana which has only fresh fruit and veggies. I love what you have getting it delivered!
