Cutting Myself Some Slack

Thursday, March 17, 2011

I'm so used to being hard on myself about eating unhealthy foods. I've been beating myself up for so long, its hard to cut myself some slack. I am committed to making a LIFESTYLE CHANGE, not to go on a diet. So fun foods should be incorporated. I've been doing great this entire week, so today was a cheat day (I've had a craving for a cheeseburger). Even though I've been doing well this week, I still feel some of that guilt creeping back up on me. I'm used to being so hard on myself, so its going to take a while to break this habit. But I'm trying my best. I don't want to feel guilty or feel bad about enjoying certain foods. it won't be easy, but I need to go easy on myself. We'll see how it goes....

I don't consider eating certain things as "cheating". I try my best to incorporate those items in my daily food plan......If however I eat something not quite up to par I go to the lower end of my calorie range for a couple of days.........I have taken my weekly calories and divided them by 7 (when I have an over day) and I always come out OK.
Also add a few minutes of exercise to my day.........It is hard not to feel guilty when this is a habit we picked up when dieting.........If you keep working on thinking this is a lifestyle change and you are human and will make mistakes or just give in to those cravings in the end you will do just fine. Have a great day YOU ARE WORTH IT.... emoticon

It's a day by day process and life is too short to be on a diet. I find what helps me is the 80/20 rule. Eat 80% clean and 20% not so clean. Keeps me sane and the lbs don't pile on. It's all about balance and with practice you'll find what works for you. emoticon
