My sleep-walk tummy tuck
Thursday, March 17, 2011
Holy crap, I woke up with a flat stomach.
I've had a little fatty pooch probably forever, but especially since having the baby, and even more especially since gaining those 10-then-20-or-so pounds. My abs (which are awesome, if I do say so myself!) have always been present and made a nice foundation for the water balloon tummy blurp.
Since joining the YMCA's Move2Lose program, those abs have turned from "meh" semi-foundational core structure into BIG BITCHIN' VERTICAL RIBS! As in, knock your teeth out strong abs. The two ridges down and everything. My husband has always said that my bare abdomen looks like the face of a horse, with the vertical part being the horse's face and my belly button making the horse's nose.
Last night I went to bed with an awful stomach ache. It had started out as a nausea sort of thing, and moved slowly into a half gassy, half muscular thing as the night progressed. When I got up I pulled up my shirt to see if my stomach was still bulging out from the pain and... woah. No stomach. It was flat.
Like SERIOUSLY FLAT. Yoga instructor flat. I wasn't even sucking in. Sucking in made it FLATTER.
So... either the pain from Wednesday was my insides beginning to digest themselves, or all that Move2Lose work has been worthwhile!
(I did drop a half inch off my waist, and 3/4 of an inch each from my hips and thighs during the first six weeks of the M2L program. Strangely enough, just 2 ounces though!!)
